A friend of mine who passed at the age of 51 ( life expectancy 21 ) with a rare blood disorder, Klippel et Trenaurrnay ( ? Spelling) ) was followed by Dr. Blahey when he still practiced in Montreal I believe my friend was a paediatric patient when he first encountered Dr. W. Blakey Anyways , my friend trusted him and considered him a caring, willing to go the distance and then some type of Dr. Or going beyond the call of duty This type is almost extinct in this highly technological times . I never met him He is deceased and my condolences to family, friends , colleagues and patients who were privileged to wind up under his care. RIP Dr. Blakey

Dr. Blahey on the surface is all business but does care for his patients and is very knowledgeable about what needs to be done by the staff and by the patient themselves.
I am in my 6 year of remission and have met with him every 2 months for Consults and Maintenance treatment. I am thankful for his care and attention over the years and I am thankful to him and his staff for each day

My GP gave me a choice -- top notch hematologist with not the best bedside manner or ok hematologist who is a really nice guy. I chose Dr. Blahey. I wouldn't call him rude, but he's all medicine, no hand-holding. He recommended me to the bone marrow transplant team despite my age (60 at the time). 14 years later, I'm glad I chose him.

Very rude, very insensitive. I heard he is going to be retiring soon. That will be great for every patient on earth for this to leave the medical profession. He obviously went into medicine for money and doesn't care about patients.

Last week I said good bye to the dr. that saved my life 20 Years ago.
Diagnosed with APL leukemia- dr. Blahey has provided care for these years.
Rather than dismissing me after I was in remission, he has continued to see me every year . Check how I am am give me the ok .
It is sad and happy I say goodbye as he is retiring.
Probably needs a good rest and has more fish to catch. 🐠
Thank you Dr Blahey and Joanne his receptionist for your care.
I did get a big hug from Dr . Blahey as I left .😊
TB- Theresa

I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma - Double Hit - in December of 2014, and Dr. Blahey was my doctor. I understand some people are not particularly fond of his bedside manner and he has a "business first" attitude. I have nothing but good things to say about this man and I credit him and his team for my survival.
