At first, I considered giving all 1's as the rating, but then realized that that doesn't actually give an accurate rating. In terms of frustration, yes, 1's (even 0's) across the board is what I would rate Dr. Tikkanen's practice as... however, that is not a reflection of her as a doctor. She is actually the best doctor I have ever had, and I had her as my family physician for 20 years. Her receptionist was always world class in terms of helpfulness and friendliness, and Dr. Tikkanen herself is the kindest woman I've ever met - she always treated me with care and respect and I never felt uncomfortable once in her office which is rare these days. The problem now, however, is that she takes many leaves of absences for months at a time, with no notice to patients and a simple voicemail on the office machine stating the practice is closed indefinitely. I've been reluctant in finding a new family doctor due to lack of good ones & since Dr. Tikkanen has been so good to me, but it may be time

Dr Tikkanen has been off for over 2 years now. They keep giving dates of her return and those dates come and go. She has left her patients hanging.

It's too bad. I have been seeing her for 17 years and have put up with canceled appointments and long vacation periods because she is very thorough but after an entire year of her answering machine stating expected dates of her return to work, she has now disappeared. I expected at least to have a referal to another doctor especially since she has all my records.

She takes months off at a time. Worst most uncaring Dr. of all. She is never there, always late and constantly cancelling appt.'s. It's ridiculous and I don't know how she has any clients left.

I have had Dr. Tikkanen for the past 20 years. She is the best doctor I have ever had. She is so caring and thorough and has a wonderful bedside manner. She has never rushed me through an appointment and has always referred me to the best specialists whom I have been very happy with. I always feel good when I leave her office because Dr. Tikkanen has such a pleasant disposition. In my book she is absolutely the best. I love her.

Dr. Tikkanen is a nice lady and seems to know what she is talking about but she sure doesn't care about anyones time but her own. I have take to take many hours without pay because I have had to wait so long after a scheduled appt. She needs to schedule less appt's in a day and take less vacation time. It's very unfair to her clients.

I have been seeing her for 10 years and the last couple years when I have needed her the most she has been nothing but a disappointment. I was going through something serious and she canceled 4 appointments in 7 months. If you can even get an appointment on her limited schedule dont hold your breathe 9 times out of 10 you will get a phonecall the day before having to "reschedule" cause she has decided to "go out of town for a few weeks". Unacceptable!

I just love her! She's very thorough and leaves nothing to chance. I've been seeing her for 20 years and she's had the same WONDERFUL bedside manor the whole time. Very warm and caring lady. No one likes to wait an hour to see a doctor, but she's worth it. And she doesn't rush you through the appointment.
