This Dr Mark Lowney is not the obstetrician-gynecologist located in Fall River, Massachusetts, USA. This Dr Mark Lowney is a family practice doctor from St John, New Brunswick, Canada. The comments made about this Dr Lowney should not be associated with the board certified Ob/Gyn from the United States!!!

Having recently moved back to NB I had the misfortune to be directed to Dr.Lowney. There is a reason he is about the only physician in town that will accept a new patient. I found him to be rude, uncaring and unresponsive to any questions or observations I had. He told me..and I quote.."This isn't Ontario or the US and I will not authorize any preventative healtcare since this isn't the way we do things in NB". So am I to assume from his remarks that I am to expect less than adequate healthcare in NB? When I had an emergency situation and tried to get an appointment, I was told he was too busy to see me and that I should go across the street to St.Joe's..I did that and after a 6 hour wait saw a very caring physician. I guess if you can't prescribe a pill or write up a slip for tests, Dr.Lowney isn't interested in seeing you. He really needs to read the Hippocratic Oath and ask himself if he remembers swearing to ethically practice medicine.

My 3 kids and I have been going to see Dr. Lowney for the past 15 years and he's always been extremly helpfull and supportive. My children absolutly love him! I can usually get an appointment within a week or sooner if urgent. He always refers my family and I to the best specialist. You can tell that he loves his job!

First off his secretary is a big B!She would always call saying my results are in I must come right away to see the doctor, making it sound like I was dying ,I would get there and the doctor would be looking at me with his dumb look he has and ask why you here?Your the doctor you tell me,another thing it first come first serve there ,no point even having an appointment, its always over booked.I had an appointment for 1:30 and it turned out 2 other people did too guess what nobody got in at 1:30 no surprise!Dr.Lowney is the biggest quack I ever met.I went there for back problems,he made it seem like it was no big deal ,until I went to a back specialist and found out my back was broke.Everytime I went there for a problem,he would say he had the same problem at my age ,with all these problems he seems to say he has ,you would think this guy would be dead by know!!But I'm happy to say me and my whole family have a very nice new doctor and never ever have to deal with this weirdo ever again.

This man is an absolute quack. Misdiagnosis seems to be his forte. In addition, he does not seem to comprehend what "Doctor/patient priviledge" means. As useless as**** on a bull would be an understatement!!!

Very careful and quick to refer when necessary. Direct and does not mince words. Our family is very grateful to have him!

I was (along with 6 family members) referred to doctor Lowney after my family doctor retired. All of us agree he is a wonderful, caring, attentive, and comical doctor. True, he has far too many patients, but such is life in SJ! On top of a heavy load, many...or most of his patients are of low..or no income, seeking out more care...or medication then needed! (listening in waiting room will tell you this) With this in mind Dr. Lowney is almost overly cautious in prescribing anything!! (wow, careful to medicate...a practice lost this day in age) I think Lowney should be rewarded for his tolerance and patience, as well as his ability to read as to why people are actually in his office!!

I have been a patient of Dr Lowney for 15+ years, and find him to be a great doctor. He has always been very caring and I never have had any hesitation to discuss any issues with him. Only complaint I have is the time the apppointment is scheduled, and when you actually get into see him. Most times it cab be almost an hour after the scheduled time, but thats pretty much standard with most doctors around here.

Dr. Lowney has been my doctor for at least 20 years. After being recently diagnosed with a life-changing illness, I went to him for advice as I anticipated that he would help me navigate through the health care system. He was no help and I actually left his office in tears because of his callousness.

NEVER GO TO THIS MD!!!! I hate this man!! He is the worst doctor I have ever been too/worked with (I work in a hospital). I was with him for a few years, every visit he would tell me that whatever I was in for, he had had before and I was over reacting (i.e. menstrual problems.. yeah he had those too..). He ignored dangerous symptoms of heart failure in my mother and told her she was just fat (like he's the picture of healthy body weight). I actually left him because he refused to treat me at all unless he physically did my PAP tests which I had told him I was uncomfortable with a man doing, and I was not sexually active at the time and did not actually require one. Very rude, ignorant, unknowledgable and unprofessional. He would talk about confidential issues with the door open or in the waiting room. This man should not be allowed to practice medicine anywhere, ever.
