With all the cancelled surgeries caused by the Covid pandemic, this doctor was a gem. He got me into surgery and relieved my suffering. I am so thankful to Dr. Finklestein.

If this doctor can't make money from cutting you open. He tells you there's nothing wrong with your back.... He makes a ton of money off insurance companies, he's a gun for hire....

no bedside manner
zero ability to take care of the pt, too bad the spine is attached to a person. otherwise he could be good.

Appears to be knowledgeable but his arrogance gets in the way. He belittled me and made me feel like a worthless piece of junk.

This last rating proves the lack of credibility of this website. If this guy was so unhappy why is he commenting 4 years later. If you were so unhappy with him why did you have your second; and if the first was with someone else it seemingly was not very successful. My own experience with Dr. F has been outstanding.

Had my second laminectomy by this doctor in 2014. Worst experience ever! My quality of life has deteriorated and I am out of my mind with the pain. The procedure was day surgery and they bounced me out full of morphine after a general anesthetic. Was in a blackout for two weeks until I had a fall resulting in a concussion. I recently learned there was hardware left in my spine resulting in the most terrible and debilitating pain. Had my 2week apt with Dr. Finklestein and told him what had happened - he just turned around and walked out of the room. Not only a bad surgeon but not a very compassionate human being.

8 weeks post spinal fusion and I’m pretty much 100% pain free. Had 10 scale pain for months before my first visit.

Before my surgery, I read some of these reviews. Have to say I disagree with these negative comments as received nothing but professional and timely service from Dr. Finklestein and his team.

Sincerely grateful. Thank you.

I was seated in this doctors office by his assistant (she did not introduce herself let alone said hello). When he walked in he likewise did not greet me but just sat in his chair and immediately started questioning me about the accident I had that has resulted in over 3 years of pain that are barely controlled by medications. I proceeded to review my symptoms but he would often cut me off to go on to his questions. When he examined me he causes sharp intense pain to my hip that shows a tear and is due for surgery (he had the MRI findings). There was no apology nor did he offer assistance for me to come off the examination table. He assessed briefly the pain I described in my neck and shoulder, and with pressure he caused sharp pain ( I have a neck injury as well). I do not think that he even noticed the tears welling up from my pain nor my groan when he did that. He was focussed on providing the report that the defendant's lawyer expected of him, no matter what the physical examination and prior medical tests show. If you are sent to him for insurance purposes, understand that he will negate "in his medical opinion" that your injuries are the result of an accident. He is there for one thing...to produce a document that the defense can use. Do not expect an independent unbiased report. It is unfortunate that physicians like Dr Finkelstein (note do not mispronounce his name as I was advised by the transport company, as he gets upset) actually teach from an internationally recognized university. I can imagine his lectures on how to increase your income by any means necessary, including biased and inaccurate reports. Perhaps University of Toronto should look into his reviews when they send residents out to follow him.
