I saw her in the emergency room for a late-caught appendicitis... I was going to have surgery, but she decided against it, saying that it would be complicated now that the appendix had laid down new blood vessels and tissue, and put me on an antibiotic-only treatment to clear the infection. 8 months later, I nearly died due to that same appendix - it had fused to my colon, flaring up what I now believe to be chronic appendicitis attacks (no one could find any cause), and after months of this stress nearly ruptured during surgery. If your appendix is messed up to the point that a surgeon calls the surgery "too complicated"... find one who is more confident in their skills! You do not want to go through what I did!

My mother had an intestinal blockage, after 5 other intestinal blockages over the past 20 years, with multiple surgeries. Given the scarring and damage to mum’s bowel, she was given around a 5% chance of surviving the surgery with the chance to come home and still live independently.
Mum is now back home. She’s using a rolling walker now, but is getting around well. She’s able to do some small things like making toast and coffee or putting a small load of laundry in to wash. We were set up with a PSW, meals on wheels, and OneCare to help with mum’s personal care, the upkeep of the house, and some errands, and that’s hugely helpful and appreciated! Mum is getting stronger by the day and she won’t need to have the extra help forever.
Given the challenging circumstances of Mum’s surgical history, I don’t know if any other surgeon could have pulled Mum through. I’ll always be grateful for her saving Mum’s life.

If Dr. McCune every relocates I'll have to up and sell my home and follow her. She is amazing in every way. Kind, patient, compassionate, professional and exceptional in her bedside manner and her surgical skills. I have had her once for an emergency surgery and a second time for a booked surgery during Covid. What a kind professional she is. She explains thoroughly and let's you feel like you are the only person of importance when you are discussing options re: surgery. I love this woman to pieces and Stratford is more then lucky to have her on their team. Pat

Dr. McCune performed a lateral sphincterotomy on me in December of 2021. Throughout the process, I found her to be clear, courteous and professional. The results of the procedure were outstanding, far exceeding my expectations. I would certainly recommend her to anyone.

I have been under Dr. McCune's care sporadically for several years, most recently for gallbladder surgery in the fall of 2020. Throughout I have found her to be good humoured and kind. I appreciate very much her straitforward manner. Prior to surgery she explained the risks, as surgeons must, but without causing alarm. At no time was she patronizing, but described the procedure clearly, providing an on the spot visual. The surgery went smoothly and she showed compassion before and afterwards. I have complete faith in this excellent physician.

This experience by far is the worst experience I’ve ever had with any Doctor. I was referred by my FP for multiple issues, I had to have a procedure done and from beginning to end experienced extremely rude speech, comments, attitude from this person. She would not answer intelligent questions, dismissed them as already being answered. Her language was offensive and unprofessional.
At one point I asked why she was speaking to me in this way and she denied the behaviour acting as if she really was unaware of her tone and speech. So, I realized quickly it was not personal she’s like this with everyone, she’s just a cruel and unkind person who should not be a doctor.
Before surgery she examined me and diagnosed my old belly button piercing as a hernia which I knew was not the case. I knew not to speak or I would be yelled at as I has previously just minutes prior. I went into anesthesia in tears as the anesthesiologist held my hand apologizing for her disgusting behaviour overall.
Please get a different Doctor, no one should be exposed to this kind of constant behaviour, especially in a vulnerable state. She broke her oath multiple times during my 3 months with her.
I let her know I would be requesting a different doctor, and her response was to tell me she was not seeing me again. One of the many things that is unfortunate about this experience is that she will then proceed to put notes in my medical file which could damage any experience I have again with different doctors. This isn’t right!!!!i

Very dismissive. Rude. Acted like I was a pain in the neck and a complete waste of time, even though I'd been referred by my family doctor for a lump and had a family history of breast cancer. Absolutely terrible bedside manner. If I ever need this kind of care again I will request someone else. I'm never going to her again.

I had my breast cancer operation a bit over 2 weeks ago. In my most difficult time I could not have been more lucky to fall into the capable hands of Dr.McCune and her outstanding all female team. Starting from the receptionist, booking appointments that never failed to the surgical nurse who told me what to do when and where. Dr. McCune herself who spend over an hour with my husband and myself, explaining the upcoming operation in detail. Not to mention answering a million questions we had. Even on the day of surgery, the calmness and lightness between the team washed over me like a warm blanket, making me feel protected and save. Thank you
A big thanks also to the lady's at the breast screening department at the Stratford Hospital. The "yoga moves" you have to preform to get all the right images from the mammogram and biopsies are outstanding.
