Simita Talwar is the worst doctor I have ever been to. I am still smh over the whole experience. I walk into her office (11 am) and no one even looked up from behind the reception desk. I stood there for a few minutes then I finally said good morning to which my greeting was returned by, did you fill out the paperwork from the website. I hand over the paperwork then I go sit down. That was the first turn off but I keep an open mind.

The second turn off was it had to be 80 degrees in there. I actually fanned myself while I waited to be seen. I waited 40 minutes past my appt. time to be seen. (now 11:40 am) Fine. It happens. Except I was the only patient in the place. Still keeping that open mind.

But here's the part that blew my mind. She had an assistant come in and ask me a round of questions as to why I was there, medical history, etc. (He was actually very nice-too bad he wasn't the dr.) Well, I guess it was taking too long so the dr. comes in (11:50) and says we have lunch at 12 and then I have a meeting so we need to hurry. I am not kidding. That is exactly what she said before she even introduced herself! (It was my first visit). Mind closing.

I asked if I should came back at better time and she said if you have a lot of issues you may need too. (Wow) I said I am only here for one issue but I can come back at a more convenient time because I don't want to cut into your lunchtime. Once again she said I may need to if it takes too long because insurance limits the amount of time you can be seen. (ooook)

The assistant started telling her the info he had gathered from me and I start thinking to myself, if she wants to eat lunch right at 12:00 why didn't she come in herself and ask me those questions or see me at the actual time of my appt. I knew at this point it wasn't going to work out so I wrapped up the appt without my issue being addressed and was in my car by noon. Mind closed.

My previous doctor of 8 years, who recently left the practice I used to go to, would have never treated me or anyone so unprofessionally. I would guess with a reasonable amount of certainty that any 5 star ratings on this doctor are likely family members trying to help her get her practice off the ground. I don't see that happening. I do wish the kind assistant who I saw first the best of luck. He deserves better.

I don't actually know what it is that this doctor does other than refer you out to specialists. She is nice enough, but I always end up waiting and she listens briefly to my concerns and gives me cards to other doctors. A waste of time.

As a doctor it is your responsibility to take care of your patients. If your family is more important then you shouldn't be a doctor. The office is open from 7:30-4pm. She is only there from 9:30-3. She comes in late all the time. Never take morning appointments with her. I waited for 2 hours one time. When she is on call she is suppose to be available to send prescriptions to the pharmacies but she ALWAYS say call 911 even if it is a simple common cold. Her staff is terrible. They do not know how to stick needles and take blood. I always get stick 5 times and it leaves a huge bruise for a few days. For blood work go to a lab corp. they are experienced.

My family met Doctor Talwar several years ago. She was at a different practice. When I was told she left the practice. I searched the internet and got a home number and found my way back. I drive from Baltimore City to see her in Crofton as do my husband and son. She is a comapssionate, caring doctor that listens to you the patient to make the best course of treatment. By a fluke with myself and son we found out we havea genetic condition that could have killed us both. We were very lucky Dr. Talwar listens and believes patients when they say they dont feel well. I hope she is around practicing medicine for many years to come.
