I have been through many treatments at the VA in La Jolla and Dr. Ahadian is the 1st doctor to actually care and try to help me get better. I suffer from a near 16 year old back injury sustained at age 19 in the U.S. Army. He is the head of the Anesthesia Department at the VA Hospital and a Professor at UCSD. He is an excellent and very knowledgeable doctor. As for medication,, he has only prescribed medicine post surgery (Laser Disc Decompression) so I can recover, but otherwise everything he does is to get you to manage pain without medication. I recommend him to any vet suffering a back injury.

This pain clinic in La Jolla is a complete joke. First of all, you won't have Dr. Ahadian doing any of your procedures, but a doctor or intern in training doing them. One of which paralyzed me for 20 min. while they called a code blue and had to grab a crash cart because they thought I was dying. Once you exhaust all Dr. Ahadian's pain remedies (I was his patient for 2 years), he will then turn his back on you and cut off your pain medication, leaving you to go through a week of hell. So if you’re into a doctor that will abandon his patients because he can't bring them relief, then this doc is for you! What a joke. Never again will I trust a doctor and get myself into a position that will allow some doc to be to put my life into so much turmoil and danger like ole' Farshad did! And don't get me started on most of his staff! Yikes! That's a whole other nightmare.
