No idea if he usually sees infants, but we ended up having to see him for my 8 month olds checkup because our doctor had an emergency and was unable to see us, and I certainly won't be seeing him again (for anything). I wasn't asked any of the usual questions (or any at all). At one point, I don't know if he was checking reflexes or what, but I thought he was going to drop my son.. and then he had my son standing up while holding him by one arm.. like, what the heck was he checking by doing that? He didn't communicate to me what he was doing at any point of the checkup.. and seemed like he was trying to get it over with as quick as possible.
Once he said we were done and good to go, while getting my kids ready to leave, is when he decided to actually go over (very few) questions that he was probably supposed to during the actual appointment. Also let me know that "eggs and nuts aren't supposed to be given until 1yr", at which time I mentioned that it was my understanding this had changed, but "he doesn't agree with that" (so it's ok for him to give out misinformation apparently). Makes me wonder what other bad information he gives to others.
Needless to say, I've never been upset or angry about a doctor visit, so this was a first. I absolutely will not be seeing him for anything ever again. Like, I wanted to cry at the way he handled my kid. I was so unhappy with the visit that I've rebooked with our family doctor just so we can get a proper checkup.
