I suffer from refractory severe Ulcerative Colitis; 11 years now. I've tried every pill, shot and IV biologic available. In August 2015, when my HI Doctors ran out of options for me, I traveled to The Rochester, MN Mayo Clinic to get their opinion. Mayo said I need colorectal surgery.
But, before I went to Mayo and out of desperation from severe pain, severe symptoms and no medical options available, I was referred to Dr. T (as his patients refer to him), by a friend. I was skeptical as I had tried many holistic methods before. I have seen 4 GIs and all have told me over and over, including Mayo Clinic that food had nothing to do with my condition; that western medication was my only saving grace and when that failed, they said colorectal surgery.
I was desperate for help and so I listened to everything Dr. T told me. He was honest and up front - that I had to make a huge lifestyle change in terms of my eating in order for his treatment to work. If I was not committed to do the work as well, this would not be successful for me. And it wouldn't be a quick fix; that it didn't take me a few weeks or months to get to this point, that it took me my whole life to become this severe.
It wasn't want I wanted to hear, but I was at my breaking point with my condition, and so I agreed. He explained that we need to repair my body so that my body could help heal itself; that over 11 years of high dose medications including Prednisone, shots, IV infusions and pain killers pretty much blew out my body's ability to help fight the disease on its own. And trust me, I felt it too. Up to 30+ pills a day, I felt like I was dying inside and when I questioned my western Doctors about all the meds I was taking and why I felt so awful, they were quick to dismiss it as side effects of my Ulcerative Colitis.
Dr. T uses food, minerals and nutrients to help your body participate in healing. He uses IV infusions of minerals, nutrients and medicine to help your body "get with the program." After 3 months of doing everything Dr. T said, I was starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. He weaned me off of all my meds, something my western Doctors highly disagreed with. And my pain and symptoms have begun to subside, all medicine free!
I've had my set backs in terms of my eating and even took time off of Dr. T's program thinking I could do it myself, but I always find my way back because my symptoms kick up again. No matter how much I pout, I NOW do believe food is a HUGE part of a person's health and although I was a pretty healthy and fit person before I met Dr. T, my disease has shown me that I don't have the freedom to be lax with what goes in my mouth; it's just the way my body is wired.
Dr. T genuinely cares for his patients. He works with you to figure out how to best achieve relief from whatever condition you suffer from. He explains why certain things are done and he takes time to speak with you, to see how you feel and how you are progressing. It is a shame that medical insurance does not see this therapy as a necessity; but, I guess when you aren't filling 30+ prescriptions per month, they don't make any money. Dr. T's goal is remission, and if he can't achieve that for you, he is honest and up front about it.
Please contact me directly if you are thinking about this treatment and have more questions. I cannot write how meeting Dr. T has affected me for the better and I can never put into words what his treatment has done for me - the day I walked into his office, I really felt that life wasn't worth living any more if I had to go one more day with the severity of my disease. Again, I am not in remission, but that is the end goal and through some bumps, I've finally realized the need to devote myself to this method for the long haul.
