Receptionist Maureen Brady-Rodriguez was racist. Avoid this doctor's office. I saw her yell at a Mexican man just because he didn't speak English. She actually told him to go back to Mexico. I asked the doctor why he didn't do anything. He said Maureen Brady-Rodriguez has been working here for years. Horrible doctors office.

I myself am a employee of MUSC. Took my mother to see him as another MUSC doctor diagnosed her with a Salivary stone. The appointment wait times were fair. The service and communication was beyond appalling. He could not find the spot my mother was concerned about and instead of trying to find it, he just said "Everything looks fine" Upon a follow up phone call he yelled at her telling her all his credentials. Upon phone call with me he said he thought cost was more important than health and actually compared my mother to a dog. Of course he realized what he said and went silent for a few seconds. He insinuated this was all in her mind and there was nothing really there. Doctors like this do not deserve to practice.

Dr. Gillespie and his staff are wonderful--I can't praise them enough. He operated on my salivary gland to remove scar tissue and I have seen him many times for subsequent follow up check ups.

Dr. Gillespie did a great job with my surgery and I agree about the teaching hospital. That's what MUSC is and if you don't like that then find another doctor. If you don't have teaching hospitals then how will they learn?

I am so lucky to have found Dr. Gillespie. He performed my thyroid cancer surgery flawlessly and is always there to answer my questions and any difficulties I had after surgery. He visited me every day in the hospital and was always encourging. I would recommend him to ANYONE! In response to the post about having residents in the practice - get over it! He is kind enough to let students learn from him. MUSC is a teaching hospital - don't go there if you can't deal with that. Again, for ANY ENT problem - go see Dr. Gillespie!

Brings students uninvited and unannounced into the private exam room and refuses to treat patients who will not allow a student/resident to be privy to their personal information and private visit. Many complaints filed about this practice.
