Ignores complaints of pain, chest tightness, lung issues, anything and everything in favor of "fresh air and losing weight." Denial of the presence of a lung infection that could've been treated when I first saw him but instead led to permanent scarring and reduced lung capacity that will never be at "normal" levels due to long-term damage being irreversible. Thanks a lot I guess...

I went to the walk-in clinic and he told
Me if my breathing issues kept happening to go back. I’ve been sick for 3 weeks and am getting worse. My ears are full of fluid and I’m having a hard tome breathing. He didn’t seem concerned and said “I uh think it could just be a flu bug but if you get worse come back” he was useless.

He seems to not care or listen to symptoms and made me feel like how I have been feeling is “totally normal” when it is clearly not. My family doctor has already said that I have high blood pressure, when he checked my blood pressure it was high but he told me that “It’s perfect”...

I've had Dr. Lindsay as my family doctor for over 15 years and he is incredibly frustrating to deal with. I will usually try to go to a walk in clinic in hopes of someone actually doing something for me. I have been told more than once that I am too young to be having whatever issues I describe to him. I will wait as long as I can before going to see him so I can tell him I've been dealing with an issue for a long time and he STILL will tell me "let's just wait and see what happens". If you want to be referred out to specialists you basically have to demand that he write a referral for you, and even then there are times he will simply not do it. I was dealing with a knee injury and had go back for a second appointment with a letter from my physiotherapist requesting he refer me for an MRI. It came back showing a torn meniscus, bakers cyst and tear in my MCL and he didn't even call me with the results, my physio had to request them. Dr. Lindsay's diagnosis: "just a little strain in your knee". I'm considering switching to my fiances Dr. but he is out of Orillia. I've been holding out hoping he will retire and they'll bring in a decent replacement but I don't know how much longer I'm willing to wait.
Nurse Shelly is an absolute GEM and I hope she wins the lottery and can retire.

His nurse is great. Dr. Lindsay however is an idiot. I have had him for 23 years now and he's as useless as screen doors on a submarine. I have a spinal cord injury and use a wheelchair. He recently moved into a new medical suite and the only room I can get into is his office. I no longer have privacy when I talk to him and I have to get my blood pressure taken in the hall outside of an exam room. I have a very high pain threshhold and refuse to take pain meds until my pain is 11 out of 10 or higher. When I had a dislocated hip 12 years ago, he put me on morphine to manage the pain. While specialists in Toronto were trying to figure out how to fix my hip, Dr. Lindsay kept increasing the amount of morphine I was taking until I was on over 200 mg a day. He never took me seriously when I said that I wasn't feeling like myself emotionally/mentally. He just attributed it to dealing with a pressure ulcer and told me it would get better. When I was diagnosed as having Type 2 diabetes, I asked him how many times a day should I check my sugars. His answer? "You don't have to". I suffered from migraines as a side effect of a necessary medication and he blamed them on the fact that at that time both my mother and my sister were smokers. He has pretty much tried to kill most of my family: he was never concerned about my mom's blood pressure which was always on the high side until after she had what Southlake Regional Health Centre cardiac nurses referred to as the "worst, non-fatal heart attack" they had ever seen. My oldest nephew was not well and Dr. Lindsay told my sister that he was dehydrated. Thanks to my sister and mother nagging him, there was a blood test done. Three days later, he was being taken to Sick Kids and then flown to London by air ambulance because he had acute lymphoblastic leukemia and had a very short time to live. He's now 20. He is barely in the office now. It seems like every time I all he is on vacation.

Had this doctor for over 20 years and if there was a new doctor to switch to, I would.

I find it very hard to get in with Dr Lindsay, I probably see the emerg or a walk in clinic more than I am able to see him. Furthermore, he takes random days off and his voicemail is full often so I cant even leave messages for them to call me back. The staff are all very nice, its just a inconvenience to ever get in. You might as well not have a doctor and just go to the walk in clinic.

I've been seeing dr.lindsay for about 20 years. In the past he has told me that chiropractors are a waist of time and money. He has fallen asleep while talking to me about my health concerns. When I told him about my anxiety attacks and depression, he told me to "be a man and suck it up. He tried to talk me out of a vasectomy, after my fourth child was born. I have no where else to go! I only go in to get prescriptions filled, that's it. I'm surprised I'm still here! Thank you to all the alternative medicine methods ( I've paid for).
