I was going through a really rough time with the sudden diagnosis of lung cancer with my friend and she was there for me and for my friend's family both as a physician and as support. My friend's death was totally unexpected and nothing made it easier but it helped that someone was willign to listen and spend time with her. A bright smile everyday and bright sense of humor went a long way.
