I went to see Dr. Chamnong as a new patient last year because of concerns raised by an urgent care physician over untreated high blood pressure. Dr. Chamnong prescribed two blood pressure medications and said to come back in a few months for a follow up. At the next visit, he increased the dosage for the blood pressure medication and had blood drawn. I later received a call from one of his staff informing me that he had reviewed my lab work and was prescribing me two cholesterol drugs. I asked for my cholesterol numbers from the lab work and questioned where he would like them to be. The staff member read off the numbers and indicated that they were within normal limits. I raised the obvious question as to why he wanted me on these medications (knowing that the statins prescribed are known to have strong side effects in some). As she admitted that she didn't know, I didn't press the issue. A few months later, as each of my medications were dwindling, I contacted my pharmacy to obtain refills. They made a request to Dr. Chamnong's office and relayed to me that he would not authorize refills for any of my prescriptions. Thinking that he must want to evaluate me for possible adjustments, I emailed Dr. Chamnong's office to explain that I no longer had any doses of medication remaining and requested instructions regarding refills, discontinuing the medications, or scheduling an office visit. I expressed my concern over now having missed multiple doses of my blood pressure medication. I received a perplexing unsigned reply simply stating "we will no longer see you as a patient find a new doctor soon you were rude". I am in disbelief. Neither of the two brief office visits I had were anything less than cordial and he never mentioned that I might need to find another physician. I've read my email over and over trying to understand how it might have been misinterpreted but my conclusion is that it was polite and straightforward, not demanding but rather requesting instructions. I think that his actions border on malpractice as I and find myself with uncontrolled high blood pressure and no physician. I immediately began looking for someone else but learned that none of the offices I called today were taking new patients.

I never imagined that a physician would do such a thing. From reading the reviews on this site, it appears that he has done similar things to other patients without care for the impact.

I recently moved back to Montgomery and was looking for a family practice doctor to see as my main doctor. Chamnong was recommended by a friend of mine and I called to schedule an appointment. The lady who answered the phone asked for my name, date of birth, and insurance information. After I gave her my insurance information she informed me that Chamnong was not seeing new patients... I was confused as to why she asked for my information if he was not seeing new patients... She replied that she would ask the doctor if he was willing to take me on as a new patient since I had been referred. She called me back the following week and said Chamnong would be willing to see me so I scheduled an appointment. I went to my first appointment where they did a full workup. They filed with my insurance and settled for less than what they originally billed for which I assumed was normal but then two days later I got a letter in the mail that said Chamnong would no longer be able to be my doctor without any explanation. After that, I had a friend call and schedule an appointment as a new patient and she was able to get an appointment. My only conclusion is that Chamnong and his office participate in some sort of insurance scam. Asking me about my insurance before telling me they weren't taking new patients, and then cancelling me as a patient after my insurance (BCBS) settled for less than they asked for, and then immediately allowing a new patient in after dismissing me all screams, "SCAM." Looking back at the reviews on here it turns out I'm not the first patient he has done this to as well. I'll be reporting this to anyone who will listen. Sounds like some sort of insurance discrimination to me.

One of his first customers after he left Primed, and haven't seen to him in a while, so told to go to another doctor because he is too busy with other patients to see me!

First time I have heard from a physician whom I have been loyal to! I got it--never go there again.

Dr Chamnong is only interested in himself and making money. It is his way or the highway. Did does not allow you to get a second opinion. I got a second opinion which did coincide with his assessment. He became very defensive and two weeks later in the mail I received a letter telling me he would no longer be my doctor. My heart doctor even agreed with the second opinion I received. I have since found a good doctor, who encourages second opinions.

I have been seen by Dr Chamnong for about 3 years now. I have had good experiences and mediocre ones. I do love the fact that I can been seen most times in the same day and have never waited more than 15 minutes in the waiting room. They have been very accommodating in getting me in right away. There are times I feel like he does not listen to me fully but it was nothing I feel that it could hinder a diagnosis. The first year or so I was not to keen in the staff but changes were made and they are all professional and sweet people.
