Olympia Family Medical Center is the most unprofessional office I have visited. Dr. Boyd does not listen. He is good at refilling prescriptions. He is not knowledgeable. One day I went in and told him my legs were jittery and restless at night. He asked me 10 times if there was any pain. I replied over and over, no, zero on a scale of 1 to 10. He entered on his computer "unexplained pain in legs". He makes eye contact when he speaks, but never when listening. I have had minor problems that he has told me he didn't know what caused them. I showed him dry scalp with red scabs. He said he didn't know what it was or what causes it. I asked if it had to do with me being diabetic. He didn't know. His office told me he retired when he went on vacation and Dr. West filled in and answered and solved my small minor issues. Apparently my skin condition was severe dandruff and I was told to use the medicated shampoo Dr. Boyd told me to stop using. I cannot recommend Dr. Boyd with good conscience.

Dr. Boyd is condescending and doesn't listen. He did not treat me adequately and I had to see another doctor for an accurate dx and treatment.

Dr. Boyd does not listen, and he has spent most of my visits staring at a computer, entering information onto forms, rather than making eye contact. He is condescending and brusque. He once asked me a question about how I was feeling, and after I answered he told me that I was wrong! He comes up with quick answers to problems without hearing all of the information, or discounts some of the information I give him so that it will fit his idea of what the problem is. I can say two good things about Dr. Boyd: I have always been able to get an appointment with him in a timely manner, and he is not stingy with prescriptions. However, after several years of infrequent, impersonal and sub-par care, I am finding a new doctor.

Dr. Boyd did not allow me to participate in my care as part of the team even though it was my body and the consequences to its' care was going to be mine. When Dr. Boyd addressed me and my concern(s) his tone was condescending and belittling. Every time I attempted to assert certain information about my care in an attempt to get more information he would push back with a discounting manner giving me the impression he just wanted me to shut up and do as I am told. I found Dr. Boyd's personality style interfered with my treatment by dominating too much emotional and physical space that should be designated for the Patient (me).
