Based on my visit to The Voice Clinic in Toronto. Excellent doctor. Extremely knowledgable. During the visit and subsequent followups, he listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions. Very easy to communicate by email. Katina is an excellent receptionist. Highly recommended.

I saw this office about a month ago and what I like to say about this office is: I didnt like the secretary because she seems like she doesnt understand the patient pain and suffering. She is not kind at all to patients and she looks so far away from suffering of others. Very strict and not a kind person to work in front office. Dr seems unknowlegable to me and a little sad and depressed. Maybe is because of her team or maybe it is related to other reasons which I dont know and I dont want to know. But he is a good listener and very good when it comes to moral and medical ethic. I am not just happy with his knowledge.

Doctor Osborn is a truly wonderful practitioner. He and his Speech Therapist partner, Aaron Low, may have literally saved my life. And Katina, the woman who runs the office for them is a perfect complement to their skills and practices. She is a very sweet and caring person... kind, compassionate, communicative and extremely efficient at getting things done. As a team, these three people are simply amazing and offer an impressive depth of specialized knowledge within their fields of practice. I cannot recommend them highly enough! I apologize in advance for the length of this review, but if you have a voice problem, and especially if you're a singer, I wanted to tell you about my 2-year long saga to get a proper diagnosis of what has become a life-threatening condition. I went to two other ENTs who were totally wrong in diagnosing my problem, before seeing Aaron and Dr. Osborn. It taught me a very important lesson: ALL ENT/OTOLARYNGOLOGISTS ARE NOT THE SAME! ALWAYS GET AT LEAST TWO OR THREE OPINIONS, OR, SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND JUST GO TO THE VOICE CLINIC. I'm a singer and for two years, after my both my singing voice and speaking voice started to get intermittently hoarse, the condition gradually got worse as time went on. In the meantime, before visiting The Voice Clinic, I had appointments with 1) Dr. Kenneth Sky, in April of 2017. Terrible, rude doctor with very poor diagnostic skills. He took a superficial look and said my vocal cords looked inflamed and immediately diagnosed me with acid reflux. After I told him I had no symptoms, he gruffly said there weren't always symptoms, and gave me 30 days worth of pills to deal with it. The pills did nothing to help, and when I went back to see him, Sky told me I needed to see a gastroenterologist and get an upper GI scan and that he didn't want to see me any more. I did get an upper GI scan and was told I did NOT have acid reflux. Then, in April 2018 I saw Dr. Brian Hands, another Toronto ENT, who bills himself as the ‘voice doctor to the stars.’ Don't believe it. He scoped me and diagnosed me with muscular tension dysphonia. And, without me asking, he also told me not to worry, because I didn’t have cancer on my vocal cords. His diagnosis didn’t match my symptoms and I thought he too was a quack. And I was right. It was not until I arranged for an appointment with Aaron Low, the speech Therapist at The Voice Clinic that I was properly diagnosed. Aaron is very nice and laid back, but also a brilliant and serious specialist. Using state-of-the-art diagnostic technology they have at the clinic, in 20 minutes Aaron found an irregular growth on my vocal cords. He conferred with Dr. Osborn and ten minutes later, they were showing me the stroboscopic videos of my vocal cords and indicating where the problem was. At first they thought the growth was likely papilloma, caused by the HPV virus. However, they cautioned that it could be cancer, so they performed a biopsy just 3 days later, to determine exactly what the growth was. When they received the biopsy results three days after that, they gave me the bad news. It was indeed cancer – laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma in situ. Dr. Osborn was very thorough and compassionate when delivering the news; he explained everything. Carefully and explained that, because the biopsy he had performed only harvested cells from the top of the growth on my vocal cords, that it may not in fact be in situ (stage 1) because the more mature cancer cells nearest to the larynx may be at a higher stage. Dr. Osborn then referred me to Dr. John De Almeida, an oncological otolaryngologist specialist at the University Health Network (TGH/Princess Margaret/Toronto Western hospitals). I've now been dealing with the folks at UHN and they are nothing short of fantastic in every respect. To date, they’ve upgraded my cancer to Stage 2 but a diagnostic CAT scan on my head/neck showed that it has not spread to any lymph glands or other tissues in the immediate area. Now, I’m just waiting for a chest CT scan to determine if it’s spread to my lungs. I now feel I am in good hands and, although I'm about to start on a program of 5-7 weeks of DAILY radiation treatments, I have the utmost confidence and faith of this wonderful cancer centre and the doctors and other people that work there. And today is just one month from the date I first went to the Voice Clinic (after trying to get specialist help for nearly two years). Had I not found Aaron Low and Dr. Alexander Osborn I would be walking around totally oblivious to the fact that I have cancer. To reiterate, as I mentioned at the beginning, I feel Dr. Osborn and Aaron Low saved my life. So, if you go to another ENT first, BE SURE to get a second opinion. Needless to say, I would always recommend The Voice Clinic.

Great ENT doctor! His office manager, Katina, is efficient, friendly and super helpful.

Aaron Low, Speech Pathologist, provides offices to the doctor in "The Voice Clinic". They're conveniently located in downtown Toronto. I have seen Aaron for truly wonderful help with my voice issues. He is amazing!!! I sound like my old self after seeing him! Worth the investment, for sure!

Aaron & Katina both contribute to my optimal health with their ready humour. Can't thank them enough.

Dr. Osborn is gentle, polite, takes the time needed for you and your questions and has a beautiful office in downtown Toronto! His staff was efficient getting me an appointment and I would recommend anyone who has had a bad experience to see him. His clinic is called The Voice Clinic, but he covers all ear, nose and throat issues and works with a very experienced Speech-Voice Pathologist. Five Star Service for sure!
