I would like to add to the review below that all the great things that happened for our son would not have happened had we listened to this so called doctor and just decided to go with the flow. We educated ourselves on Aspergers and fought to get him meds for anxiety which helped him relax and learn. This was a kid who taught himself to read at the age of 3. We found a great therapist who worked with us and taught him how to read body language, reference us with eye contact and countless other things he needed to learn through games and exercises which turned out to be priceless in his development. We advocated for him all through school to use strategies that we knew worked for him. I am just sharing our experiences to encourage people to not listen to the doctors who tell you that nothing can be done. With Aspergers, the more hands-on parents are, the better the outcome for the child.

This doctor should not be a doctor. He told us, after seeing our son for a couple of minutes when he was a toddler, that he would never be able to have a normal conversation with us or have any sort of productive or happy life and that we should just accept it and abandon all hope. Our son is now an adult and we could not be prouder or happier with the kind of man he became. He has a responsible job and is an excellent employee. He has wonderful friends and many varied interests and talents. He has many chores around the house and helps us so much. In fact, he took care of my mother for several years before she died when she lived with us. We wouldn't be able to cope without him at that time. He is cheerful, uncomplaining, responsible,super-flexible, and a joy to be around. We have deep and meaningful conversations about life. He is independent, a wonderful brother and a loving, thoughtful uncle. Our friends and family are astonished at the progress he's made.He is everything this pseudo doctor told us he would never be. I am so glad we didn't believe a word he said all those years ago.

This doctor is dangerous to your mental health. Avoid at all costs.

Dr. Perlov has been so pivotal in my family, not only helping my daughter but myself also. He made predictions on how our lives would progress and he was right on. Without his assistance two more people would have fallen through the cracks of mental illness.

Absolutely and completely dangerous. A well respected Manitoba psychiatrist that I personally knew had alerted Perlov to a situation regarding a mutual client (under 18 years old) that required immediate care and mitigation. Now this was actual printed correspondence from the said well respected psychiatrist who had this mutual client and specifically asked that it be given to Perlov. When the written correspondence was given to Perlov he, as a matter of fact, threw the material down, and said basically 'I'm not looking at that!' Even though it was clearly stated that this correspondence and information was from his own colleague. This was material and an alert that was to be given to him to prevent the possibility of a grave and serious situation from occurring for this young client. Needless to say, this young client's life outcomes, has been devastating and it is entirely and completely at the feet of this Perlov. But this is not even the half of the story. However, due to maintaining confidentiality, I am unable to say more about this story. In my view, he is a completely incompetent 'Doctor.' Ask yourself this, if a colleague of yours who also went through the rigorous training to become a psychiatrist, was to give you life and death information on the well being of a client, would you not at least consider said information? Would you not at least look into it and ascertain whether the situation in question was happening or not?? Especially if you were in fact treating the client the client's parent??

Rude, mean, arrogant, and unhelpful. His unkind words and snap judgements have scarred me for life. He caused nothing but devastation to me and my family.

I saw Dr. Perlov a long time ago when I was suffering heavy bullying at school.
He was completely useless. He couldn't even give me common sense advice.

This Dr. Loves to play Dr. He is dismissive and overlordly. He is not willing to listen, even with other professionals. He is very stubborn and close-minded. He will never admit to an error in his judgement because he is, himself, a total narcissist . Can't wait for him to retire and let younger, knowledgeable psychiatrists take over his monopoly . Stay away from this pompous idiot.

Very bad experience with Dr Perlov, diagnosed my son who was 2 yrs old with ADHD and thought he maybe Bipolar , he put my son thru every medication possible, from Ritalin to risperidone , and then combinations of different meds, he then signed off as my sons psychiatrist when he was 8 , my son now 15 is severely delayed and is not Bipolar but ODD as well as ADHD he was rediagnosed when he was 12 . Thanks to Dr Perlov my son will never be able to think or act like a teenager.
