Dr. Nandakumar is THE BEST! He saved my life when every medicine had failed me. I was living on prednisone for 3 years. He took caution and did my jpouch surgery in 3 steps and went above and beyond when there was a point that it didn't look like the surgery was going to go as planned. He knew how I felt about wanting my life back and pulled in his partner and they made it work. I'm so grateful to him! I recommend him with all my heart!!

This is a compassionate intelligent doctor who I would recommend to anyone. He spent a great deal of time explaining the surgery I was having and was available when I had questions afterward. I never felt like 'just another patient' and feel I received excellent care from Dr. Nandakumar and his staff.

Great doctor. Thorough and realistic about the options considering the diagnosis was unclear. It was a chance to take and it was the right one and I'm grateful that it was done and the decision to do surgery was not taken lightly by him or his team. It helped (me anyway) that he's Indian.

Dr. Nandakumar saved my life a year ago today. I was hemorrhaging from U.C. It was an emergency procedure complicated even further by the fact that my colon was full of blood. I wouldn't have made it until the morning if it hadn't been for Dr. Nandakumar and his team. He is an excellent surgeon and has a compassionate and confident bedside manner. He also did the two reconstructive surgeries necessary to form my j-pouch. It is 4 month since my last surgery and I feel like I never had UC. I couldn't be happier with the results and can't recommend enough Dr. Nandakumar and his team.

Went to colorectal specialist Dr Nandakumar, and had the absolute worst experience. Dr did not even give me a thorough examination. After going into detail about the severe muscle and rectal issues, the therapies other doctors have put me on, and suggested treatments, Dr Nandakumar basically looked me over and told me to drink more water and eat more fiber. I begged him to evaluate further and told him I had already been trying his method for three months. He brushed me off. The pain, discomfort, and debilitation were so terrible I went to see an outstanding physician in Stamford, CT, who after a thorough examination was amazed and had me in surgery within 24 hrs. Thank goodness I went elsewhere. I had never had such a terrible experience at Weill Cornell.

Dr. Nandakumar is a skillful surgeon and the best type of person -- thoughtful, communicative, informative, patient, empathetic. I met him because I needed emergency surgery and he was on duty and did my surgery. As negative as it might be to need emergency surgery, I will always consider it one of my luckiest nights, because of Dr. Nandakumar's fine work and caring persona as well as because of the wonderful team he has.
