Asked to be referred to Dr. Briskin because he is supposed to be knowledgeable about ADHD. Had many appointments with this doctor and not once did we discuss my ADHD symptoms. Appointments are in and out. No meaningful discussion. Has mixed up my file, forgotten important things I've told him, doesn't listen. After an appointment where I told him things were not going well he ended the appointment with "Sounds like everything is going well then." What?? Had to find a new psychiatrist. Don't bother with this one.

Have been going to Dr. Briskin for over a year. He is late to every appointment I have shown up to, on top of that he has mixed up my file with someone else’s TWICE! On another occasion, he threw a new anti-depressant at me, when I asked what the side effects were because I’m typically sensitive to them, he asked “Oh! You’ve been on anti-depressants before?” (He has prescribed me over half the anti-depressants I’ve tried in the past.) I ended up throwing up all night for multiple nights over this medication, when I went back in to explain this to him he talked over me as per usual and just said to drop them. I have been taking clonazepam for over a year every day and he told me to only start taking them as needed, when I expressed this to my therapist and pharmacist, they got concerned for withdrawal and possible seizures you can experience when stopping this medication after prolonged use, he brushed this off. I leave his office feeling frustrated and unheard every-time. If you value your health and your doctor being attentive, he is not the doctor to go to. The secretaries are always kind and that is about the only positive thing I can say.

Worst of the doctor.
I have been struggling with my mental health for years and instead of helping me get better, he says he doesn’t have medication for stupidity.
He talks for me and all he says is it needs to stop, before going back to writing his notes.

He comes off as helpful in the beginning but a few years later when it’s crunch time he is belittling abusive and condescending he spoke to me like my brain is paralyzed like my body but my brain works well thanks he’s got some god or power complex doesn’t care to help I’ve already given my family everything I documented so when I die he will be charges with negligence and abuse of power

Dr Briskin is truly phenomenal. He cares beyond measure and I know that he has my best intentions at heart. He’s gone to bat for me numerous times and truly makes me feel valued and respected. Likewise with his staff, who are so genuine, and go the extra mile every visit. My life has been benefitted immensely by having them be a part of it. Thank you Dr Briskin and staff!!

First visit: told him what my meds are and he immediately tried to switch them. Every appointment I’ve had with him has been less than 10 minutes. Goes like this: how are you doing? I answer. He says oh good. Then proceeds to write things down in my chart. Then says “see you in two weeks”. I understand the adult mental health system is very different from the children’s system, but adults deserve someone who cares, or even just acts like they care. Dr. Briskin, in my opinion, does not care at all. Which I’m assuming is because he’s on the edge of retiring. I gave a 5 for punctuality because he is always on time. Probably because his appointments are 10 minutes long. He does not listen. Very distracted, hardly any eye contact. Not very professional imo.

Dr briskin rushes through appointments, interrupts or talks over me and in some cases he is very invalidating if you say something that doesn’t fit his idea. however the secretary is always kind and my appointments are on time.

Worst appointment ever. Didn’t listen. Quickly rushed the notes and hardly looked at me. It felt like he read from a script. Didn’t care at all. Would not go back. DO NOT waste your time. Pushed new medication. Not even waited to see if it what I needed. I left feeling so much worse.

Dr. Briskin has helped me in so many ways, I cannot imagine where my life would be now, without his advice & thoroughness. I highly recommend him :)
