I say this with the utmost seriousness, if you value your life or the life of your loved ones, do not go to this man. I refuse to refer to him as a doctor as it is a complete injustice in the Canadian medical system that he still has his degree. My mother went in for a simple esophageal scope in February 2022 as she was having difficulty eating at the time. Somehow Shetty was able to puncture her esophagus during this procedure and she had to be airlifted to Halifax in critical condition. Not only that though, when he initially punctured her esophagus my mom told me how she leaned back in shock as she could clearly feel something had gone wrong. She directly told me how at that moment instead of acknowledging and attempting to fix his mistake, he looked at her with anger and simply walked out of the room. Afterward, a nurse tried to give her back her clothes and my mom told her something was not right and she wasn't leaving. It wasn’t until another doctor pointed out his concern as my mother became completely white and looked unwell, that she collapsed. She spent two weeks in critical condition in Halifax and from the initial incident to May she went from 145 lbs to 115 lbs. In that time they were not even able to diagnose her original problem as time was spent dealing with complications from the puncture and she had to later return to Halifax to have a stint put in her throat just so she could drink Ensure’s for any calories. At the beginning of May she was diagnosed with esophageal cancer after finally being well enough to have another scope, but this time in Halifax as my mother was too scared to be a patient of Shetty again. Shetty not only traumatized my mother, but put her at a severe disadvantage as due to his actions not only did she go an extra three months without being diagnosed but she lost 30 lbs before starting chemo. Two weeks ago my mother died in our house due to organ failure as her surrounding organs had become took weak and burst. Shetty’s actions killed my mother, she was the most beautiful person I’ve ever known. She was only 52, she had four children and a granddaughter and now because of him, she will never see them grow up.

Told family member was brain dead by this doctor and he said we should take off life support. Patient was on life support to begin with due to Dr Sherry’s error. Family told this doctor that we could see improvements each day but he did not believe us and told us we were selfish for not choosing to disconnect life support. After a few weeks the life support was disconnected due to improvement in condition and after a few more weeks was nearly fully recovered.

I understand Dr is likely over worked and busy but would be nice if they allowed questions and actually asked some aswell. Other then just what was in front of them in a paper.

Having moved back to PEI from New York state, I feel fortunate to have been referred to Dr Shetty! Found him to be very thorough and took time to explain test results. Good, friendly communicator. Highly recommend.

I met Dr Shetty and he was amazing first visit . then few months later getting results from a procedure he did he came in and said your good. i said i have lumps in my right abdomen i can feel since i seen him last and could he checked them. and he said no your good. i dont want to help you again so go home and tell yourself your good. i am not good and internally itching inside my abdomen for 2 months. a walk in dr can see and feel lumps and this dr shetty acted like i was wasting his time during our second visit. He was loud and rude and did not even want to hear me explain how i was feeling since our first visit. told me stop making things up and i was good and go home . im extremely sad and feel terrible for opening up to any dr now.

This man does not know what he is doing. I question if his degree is real. He treated my mother once & the first time was the last & only time. He was rude, temperamental, & couldn't address or answer any of her questions or concerns. She said he was disinterested & treated her like a second-class citizen. My mother did not go back & told her family physician about the odd behaviour, and he immediately referred her to a specialist who knew how to treat patients & give her the help that led to her recovery. I have also witnessed his rudeness teetering on abusive behaviour. My mother has 2 degrees & is a highly educated woman. My advice is ask your Dr. to refer you to someone else. I gave 1 star because unfortunately I couldn't go any lower.
