I say this with the utmost seriousness, if you value your life or the life of your loved ones, do not go to this man. I refuse to refer to him as a doctor as it is a complete injustice in the Canadian medical system that he still has his degree. My mother went in for a simple esophageal scope in February 2022 as she was having difficulty eating at the time. Somehow Shetty was able to puncture her esophagus during this procedure and she had to be airlifted to Halifax in critical condition. Not only that though, when he initially punctured her esophagus my mom told me how she leaned back in shock as she could clearly feel something had gone wrong. She directly told me how at that moment instead of acknowledging and attempting to fix his mistake, he looked at her with anger and simply walked out of the room. Afterward, a nurse tried to give her back her clothes and my mom told her something was not right and she wasn't leaving. It wasn’t until another doctor pointed out his concern as my mother became completely white and looked unwell, that she collapsed. She spent two weeks in critical condition in Halifax and from the initial incident to May she went from 145 lbs to 115 lbs. In that time they were not even able to diagnose her original problem as time was spent dealing with complications from the puncture and she had to later return to Halifax to have a stint put in her throat just so she could drink Ensure’s for any calories. At the beginning of May she was diagnosed with esophageal cancer after finally being well enough to have another scope, but this time in Halifax as my mother was too scared to be a patient of Shetty again. Shetty not only traumatized my mother, but put her at a severe disadvantage as due to his actions not only did she go an extra three months without being diagnosed but she lost 30 lbs before starting chemo. Two weeks ago my mother died in our house due to organ failure as her surrounding organs had become took weak and burst. Shetty’s actions killed my mother, she was the most beautiful person I’ve ever known. She was only 52, she had four children and a granddaughter and now because of him, she will never see them grow up.
