I had my first experience with a Gynecologist at 20, and I chose Dr. Gibbs as she was the only female Doctor in the office where my mother went. I have always been able to get in early or have a very short wait. For my regular annual appointments, Dr. Gibbs has always made the experience fast and painless and I am in and out in 20 min or less. I'm curious about the reviewer who had a family member who was celibate and said Dr. Gibbs did not believe them. I too was celibate prior to marriage, and I did ask for birth control pills during my first visit. Dr. Gibbs said that I would wish I had starting taking birth control sooner as it would have helped with some PMS symptoms. However, she did not in anyway suggest that she didn't believe that I was celibate. My best friend also uses Dr. Gibbs and loves her, and I would recommend her to anyone.

This doctor is difficult to approach. She seems very cold and detached. She performed surgery on me and acted very arrogant in the hospital. She spends minimal time with you, hasn't much to say and shows little compassion.

Dr. Gibbs delivered my 9lb10oz baby girl when I was 45 years old. she was a very helpful and concerned doctor and I am extremely grateful for her being in the delivery room. My baby was having problems as the cord was caught on her shoulder which caused complications. Dr. Gibbs was determined and quite encouraging during the last few minutes of labor when it really was a crisis situation. She handled it with ease and confidence. My baby had trouble breathing for a few minutes after birth, but everything worked out wonderfully. She is a wonderful doctor.

Dr. Gibbs performed a hysterectomy on my mother and did not mention that she was going to be out of town for 3 weeks immediatly after the surgery. They messed up on the surgery (the incision was stapled with the internal skin on the outside) which caused a lot of pain and scarring. When she called to ask about the issues they referred her to minor emergency room (another $100 copay). Dr. Gibbs does not have any other doctor available to take on her patients when she is out of town. When my mother had to have paperwork sent to Aetna for her disability they also charged her $25 to do this even though Dr. Gibbs told her that she had to go on disability. Dr. Gibbs also insisted that my sister (also a patient) was on a certain birth control and now she has been on her period for 3 weeks and we have no way of contacting her to ask for help. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

In my opinion, Dr. Gibbs pushes her patients(me) towards having a hysterectomy when there is a problem in the reporductive area when you don't want to have kids. SURGERY is not the only option for certain conditions as she maintains. I had to switch doctore because I did not want this to be the only option for my problem. Two other doctors confirmed that there were other alternitives to surgery because my condition didn't disrupt my quality of life or cause discomfort, it was just there. I'm glad I changed doctors. It seems as though she feels if you don't want children or more of them, there's no need to keep the reproductive system.

This is not illegal, but someone mentioned her name the other day and was not happy with her. Our daughter had an awful experience with her & she called her a liar several times telling her she needed to be on birth control pills. When my daughter at 20 explained she was celebate, Dr. Gibbs refused to believe her and continued trying to push her. I reported this to the insurance company, but neglected to report her to the medical board.
