Dr. Nels Dahlgren is the worst doctor I have ever seen. I am 68 years old and was on a waiting list for the one pain management doctor in South Lake Tahoe. In the meantime, I saw Dr. Dahlgren in Carson City. I had a lot of pain but no firm diagnosis, only the possibility of fibromyalgia. He offered me a pain pump to be inserted near my spine, which scared me. As soon as I declined, he treated me like a drug addict and told me he was proud of me for taking my meds as prescribed. I have always taken my medication as prescribed, so he had no reason to be "proud." He then refused to prescribe one Lyrica to get me out of withdrawal as he had cancelled my appt to get a refill. I was so sick, there was no way I could make the hour drive on winding mountain roads for a urine test. I was in withdrawal and was very sick for a week. It turned out that I have psoriatic arthritis, but all he could focus on was my (in his opinion) "drug addiction." I finally got in to see the local doctor, who has treated me with the utmost respect, which is the least I expect from any doctor.

I was impressed with the amount of care Dr. Nels Dahlgren showed. His office staff however, did not reflect this. They were only satisfactory. I thank him for his understanding and thorough exam and treatments.

What I was most impressed with was Dr. Nels Dahlgren's sincerity, and compassion. That was quite refreshing to see. Lately, you don't see that in a doctor's office anymore.
