I saw this doctor for two different conditions. The first condition could not be diagnosed by Dr. Soares. He then told me that I would have to live at a minimum pain level of a 3 each day of my life. He said he could recommend a "great program" at another hospital system that my insurance doesn't cover to help me cope with the pain. About a month later, a CHI physical therapist was able to diagnose the condition and I am now treated and have very minimal pain.

The second condition I was being seen for was chronic migraine headaches treated with Botox injections every 3 months. My first injection went just fine as they always had for the past 5 years. But at the second treatment, Dr. Soares pushed on an injection site in my eyebrow and the medication migrated into my eyelid. This caused my eyelid to droop. I called his office after hours to find out what to do and a message service told me they would contact him, since he was on call that weekend, and have him call me. I left 4 messages without ever being called back. When I finally got a hold of him during normal business hours, he told me that they don't have a message service. I called their office again after they closed that night and got the same message service who told me a different doctor was on call that night, but they would have him call me (which of course he never did).

I did some research to find out how to try to get the Botox out of my eyelid more quickly and found out that there are two prescription medications that can help with this condition. Dr. Soares was not familiar with either one of them. This is pretty sad since one of them has been around since 2005 and the other was approved by the FDA for this situation in July of 2020. As this is his specialty, you would think that Dr. Soares would be familiar with these medications.

And of course, he admitted no wrongdoing throughout the entire situation.

I needed to get my next Botox injection and was running 15 minutes late. I called the office to let them know so I could reschedule if needed and let them know I was happy to reschedule. They reassured me that the Dr. Soares would wait for me and there would be no need to reschedule. I reconfirmed that with them again since I would be driving 15 minutes to the doctor's office. I was told that he would be there. When I arrived for my appointment 14 minutes late (Which is still technically within the time limit), I checked in and sat down to wait for the procedure. One of the nurses came out from the back and informed me that Dr. Soares left. "He had things to do." Keep in mind that if I had been there on time for my appointment, it would have been a 30 minute procedure that he would have been there until 5 PM. He should not have left the office yet. He was leaving the office early. I was in tears. frustrated, already experiencing headaches every day since I was due for my treatment, but knew it was partially my fault for being late. But being told to drive down to the office, wasting my time and gas really upset me. Then a different nurse popped her head out from the back and said, "And he said to not ever schedule her for a 4:30 appointment again." I was enraged! That is the only time I can make it in for my appointments. It was also very callus to say this after doing this to a patient.

I would never recommend this doctor or his office to anyone! They cannot treat a patient with decency or honesty. Find a different doctor who will do a much better job of treating you!

I went to him 2x and never returned. He doesn't take the time to listen to your concerns and is always in a hurry. If you do tell him your concerns he ignores them . When you tell him about how the meds he prescribed to you is not working he tells you to keep taking them and come back in a month. Never came back!
