Refer to Dr Berg by another Proctologist. Performed LIS on me the very day of visit, the surgery was unnecessary and did nothing. Very very impatient to explain the pros/cons of the surgery. There was also resident/student in the room without my consent during the consultation and took turn to examine me. It was really uncomfortable and I believe should at least required my consent as a patient. I have nothing against education.

Dr hberg is the best, best dovtor ive ever encountered, although ive met many excellent doctors. He performed a number of gastrointestinal surgeries for me. God bless this doctor and thank god hes there for those of us who need his services. Thanks dr berg.

It has been 6 months since Dr Berg performed my hemorrhoidectomy, and I can say it has improved my quality of life immensely. Dr Berg was very informative prior to the surgery, which provided me with a good understanding of the surgical procedure as well as how to properly manage post-surgery. I am so glad I followed his advice and had the surgery done!

Dr. Berg did an LIS procedure on me for an anal fissure. He did not discuss risks of surgery and did not offer me any other non surgical options. When I did my own reading on the procedure I found fecal incontinence to be a significant risk. I called him and specifically asked him about this and he insisted the risk was 0%. I discussed this with him again before going into surgery and asked him to make as small a cut as possible and again he said I had a 0% chance of this happening. He specifically said “this will not happen to you”. Within 3 days of the procedure I had almost constant fecal incontinence. It has gotten better with time and has almost gone, but my body has now changed, I can’t hold it as long as I used too and has caused me endless and constant anxiety and has affected every aspect of my life. At my most recent visit he admitted that the data shows a 10-14% risk of fecal incontinence. If you are a women who has had children think long and hard before having this procedure as that increases your risk. Please seek a second opinion if they are not offering you any other options beyond surgery or not discussing this as a serious risk. There are other options.
