Wow, last poster is so right on! Alann is very unprofessional and inappropriate. Maybe that's why he's quitting his practise. Sad tho, have to find a new family doc. He's been mine for 25 years. Yep Sandra was a great office manager for him. Some wives should stay out of their husband's business,.

Dr. Edwards was my family doctor for 30 years. He even came to the hospital when i had my daughter and was very pleasant so see up until his WIFE took over the office. I miss the days of Sandra..and appt.s being somewhat on time. Since "Alann" has been Office Manager..Sandra left and it has all got down hill. They book sooo many patients a day you can wait up to 90 mins to get into your appt. at times. The staff is rude anytime i bring my kids in there.."they are too noisy". I feel rushed out of the office and un-cared for all the time. Alann is just awful...no one can stand her..she has single handedly ruined Dr. Edwards practice. I am pregnant with TWINS and was dismissed as a patient because i can not get along with Alann. Unbelievable...so after 30 yrs with John..i no longer have a family doctor. That woman needs to get out of that office...she is destroying it. I have no hard feelings towards John, expect that he is weak to let his wife take over and destroy the place.

I have been seeing Dr. Edwards since he opened his practice 27 years ago. His practice was fantastic until his wife began working in the office and screening his patients. She has a terrible bedside manner and has totally ruined my opinion of his practice. In addition, Dr. Edwards has so many patients that the wait time is weeks! A family doctor is supposed to be available for an entire family, but when I asked if I could bring my child to his practice, he told me to take him to my wife's doctor. After 27 years I was casually brushed off as if it were nothing. I will never go back.

I used to regularly visit Dr. Edwards, and enjoyed visiting the office, as he took time and Sandra was there. I have since changed Doctors as the quality definitely went down in the mid 90s. I really felt in my last few visits, that he did not listen or give me an opportunity to ask questions. I was scurried out of there. I also have an issue with a drug he prescribed my brother. Let's just say that the drug is known as a catalyst to a chronic illness that he has developed. If Dr. Edwards had consideration for my family and our history, he would probably never have prescribed this drug.

I really agree with many others that Dr. Edwards wife should not be in his office. She is very rude to the patients and seems to feel she is the boss. After having Sandra there for many years it is such a shame that the office is so awful. Please make her stay home or find some other job.

I find it interesting the number of people who experience Mrs. Edwards and still claim that Dr. Edwards offers excellent service. It is contradictory to say the least. Surely a man of his intelligence cannot claim he doesn't know what his wife's behavior is like in his own "business" and yet continue to allow it to occur. I too was once a "customer" and found myself having to find a new doctor when I was told my family of 25 plus years were no longer his "customers". He once did have an excellent team with his "Sandra" however that has long since been replaced by his wife. Should any staff in business offer her type of "customer service" they would do well to take "customer service" training or the "customers" will go elsewhere. Perhaps that is what Dr. Edwards needs in order to understand that his "business" is lacking in good "customer service".

It is nice to have a friendly doctor who leads by example, when telling you to exercise and get good nutrition. Although his practice is closed, it is still very demanding of his time and energy to maintain the quality of care that he does. I have not met any young doctors who seem to have the same commitment to their patients and willingness to have a similar family practice. If we want to keep good doctors like this, who are able to consider retirement, we are going to have to provide some incentive that helps improve their lives. As unpopular as extra billing has been seen to be in the past, there must be some way to reward doctors like this - maybe their patients could subscribe to a newsletter and thereby provide enough extra money/appreciation to keep them from retiring.

Let me preface this with: I really really like Dr. Edwards! He's been my family dr for 13 years. I think he's absolutely wonderful in that he will be quite unrushed and attentive to your issues. (I have several chronic issues since childhood he has treated since then.) What I don't like is that for my last appointment, I was not at all seen by him, but by only his receptionist. She quite rudely informed me I am no longer one of his patients as I have not seen him for a year and a half. She then cancelled my appointment, not allowing me to see Dr. Edwards. Then wished me good luck trying to find a new Dr. I imagine I'll need all the luck I can get, as I have not been allowed by her to retrieve my records. I have to start from scratch with a new doctor which is hard to find. Final rating: Dr. E? 5/5. His "support" staff? 0/5

My family has been going to Dr. Edwards for almost seven years and we have had nothing but professional ,attentive care from him. As some of the other commets state, he not only treats your symptoms, but finds what is actually wrong with you and why. He is not a prescription pusher. When we go for our physicals, he addresses issues that go above and beyond a quick check-up. He actually wants you to be as healthy as you can be so you have a better qualilty of life and are not unduely taxing the medical system. That's why I had to laugh at some of the negative comments stating that he's only in it for the money. He diagnosed my husband with skin cancer early and sent him to the best specialist and everything turned out fine. He's been great with my boys and has solved many problems with them. If it upsets you to wait an extra 15 minutes for your appt. while another patient rambles on about every ailment they've had since 2003, count yourself lucky. Dr. Edwards is a great doctor.

Dr Edwards is a very caring and thoughtful family doctor. I have known him for over 20 years and he has always provided my family with excellent care. He keeps current with new procedures and medicines. He takes the time to dicover what is wrong with you and what the best way for you to be treated. He does not prescribe medicine because it is easy only if it will be effective.
