Dr. De Alwis is an awesome doctor! Always asked how I was doing, my family, etc. Would always order blood work before handing out an antibiotic. (What's the point in taking a drug if it isn't going to be effective.) Whenever I called (not very often), it meant I was ill and I would be in THAT SAME day! I'll miss him. The new doctor, Dr. Murray, will be great as well. Just the other day my brother was getting sick, called and was again in, THAT DAY! And this person complaining that he will only be there 3 days a week. You are DARN lucky that you even HAVE a family doctor. Count your blessings.

This Doctor, is in to much of a hurry, and doesn't spend any time with you. When i go to see him, I feel like he doesn't like me. I don't care mind you. But what is my biggist beef with him is that he spends as little time with you as possible. He has miss diagnose me on 2 occations. Now I feel that he should not practice anymore. Thank God he is retiring March 28th/08 His son in law will be taking over for hime for 3 days a week. Guess what, you are going to have to wait to see him. As his practice is out of Hamilton. This is to inform anyone that didn't know this. Good Luck.. YOUR GOING TO NEED IT.

DeAlwis has been my doctor for more than 30yrs. I have never had trouble getting into to see him and have been treated very well.I believe when there is a real concern with an issue he will take care of it(prompt attention or referel) , if he thinks there is nothing to worry about he can come across as dismissive. He has always been good to me and my health.

Dr. DeAlwis is an exceptional doctor. He has treated our family for over 20 years now. He takes time to listen, gives advice, and will quickly refer you on to another physician if the health concern is beyond his expertise. He will not throw a prescription at a health issue without determining that that is the best thing to do at that time. We have left his office many times without prescriptions, because they were not needed. Thanks for your services, Dr. DeAlwis. You are very special. We would look far to find someone comparable to you. You are genuine!!

Dr. De Alwis is a professional and caring individual. He is, in my opinion, and 'old fashioned' medical practitioner in that he treats illnesses with suitable actions and does not throw a number of treatments at a given symptom. In my experience he is punctual, very knowledgeable and has a professional air and attitude about him. If he does not have the answer, he does not hesitate to refer you to a specialist - I believe his level of knowledge is beyond the 3.6 scored here and I suspect that the expectation patients have of him as a GP are unrealistic as most expect a 'doctor' to have all the answers, or conversely to agree with their own self-diagnosis obtained via an internet search.

Dr. D. was my Dr. when I lived in Brantford years ago. To this day he is our family's favourite doctor and we have had some wonderful ones. He always took the time to listen, he made sure we were emtionally and physically good. He delivered both my children and I will never forget how he stayed with me (my husband was out getting me some things) during the early labour breathing with me as my partner. He would also call our home and make sure all was well when some serious issues arose. I have never had a doctor do that! He is a very very fine doctor and a wonderful person. We miss him. I have a good doctor here in Windsor and it took me a long time to get someone that came close to Dr. D.

Dr Dealwis is always in a hurry to get thru his patients he doesn't listen to their problems. If u have more than one thing to discuss with him well too bad he will only listen to one u have to go back for the other problems. He needs to spend more time with his patients and listen to their concerns and not rush to diagnose quickly to get to the next patient this is not a race patients lives are at stake.

Dr.DeAlwis has been our doctor for 33 yrs.Through 6 births and 1 death. There are few doctors left that allow you to walk in without an appointment and see him within 15 to 20 mins. He is honestly concerned for his patients and has always gone the extra distance even when it was not expected. We appreciate the personal care he has given 3 generations of our family and if he forgets some details from some of the literally thousands of patient records that have been thrust on him by Brantford's heathcare system, well so what. He's better than dying during a 12 hour wait at the local ER. His diagnostic skills are supurb and his connections in the medical community put the BGH pak to shame.

We think he's a great family Dr. Our family has been seen by him for 30 years, never had any problems, what if you have to wait 15 minutes, I waited longer for the traffic lights to change in Brantford. He has become a family friend.
