I have not had to see him in a long time. I have adult epilepsy. Wonderful, doctor. Had my first seizure when I was forty four, and I was driving my car.

The first thing Dr.Sadler said to me was, “due to your infrequent seizures, and your young age, we should strive for nothing short of absolute perfection”.

He was right. I felt totally restored after speaking with Dr.Sadler, when I was having an issue switching medication, he called me almost like a friend would to ask how I was doing. I have been seizure free for 5years thanks to Dr.Sadler.

I just received my medical records in St johns nl re this dr from 1984 to 1987 dares. My understanding when I left him was I had epilepsy he put me on 120 mil phenobarbitalbarbitsl and 1000 milligrams valptoic acid. I continued on it to 2021. In the records it says tge seizures were non existent. That I was having hysterical seizures. And implied I was drug seeking??? If so why continue to prescribe as he did. He wrote unfavorably of my character at that time being a young lady in her 20s. In addition he commented on my family history negatively and my mother who was trying to help me. I have been on the drugs he prescribed and wrote to a dr Heather Woodland. I have no recall of seeing her. My successive drs assumed I had epilepsy like I did and continued to prescribe. The report was rather biased in the form of a hysterical young woman who had no goals. I have been fully employed for 25 years continous. And I own a home and run my life. This so called God like doctor certainly didn't earn his stripes with me. Disgusted.

I met Dr. Sadler in the very early 1980's at the UWO, University Hospital. My name was Judy Keetch. After months of testing, he and another great man, Dr. John Girvin, gave me brain surgery for epilepsy, 20 or more seizures a day, to 0!!!! If this comment can be passed on to him I would be very grateful to hear back from him. My e-mail is as follows: judystephens2552@gmail.com. Thanking you in advance.

I had an excellent time with Dr. Sadler and Susan. They helped me through the years. After seeing three neurologist the fourth one was the charm. He helped me get my medication figured out in the EMU Unit. I had enjoyed my stay there. He found me a new neurologist before he retired. I couldn’t ask for a better neurologist.

I was referred to Dr. Sadler when I requested a second opinion. His team is amazing and I can't say enough good about him. He changed my medication and I have been seizure free for over 10 years now.

I had a scheduled appointment regarding my Epilepsy Medication and the effects of the medication's. The drug Dialantin has been the only seizure medication I have been prescribed since 2000 when I got Epilepsy.
I had explained to Dr.Sadler through a gmail I sent to find out how I could get an appointment.
So I arrived 15 minutes early as instructed and brought all the medications including over the counter drugs for Dr.Sadler. This would of have been my second appointment because Dr.Sadler was away and something happened with his flight causing him to miss our appointment on Dec 12.
I was called to go in to see Dr.Sadler, I said good morning how was your vacation? Sadler replied, It was not a vacation! To me he seemed a bit irradiated within the first minute but I sat their as he read my information on his computer, when finished I mentioned how depressed I have been feeling for many years and my low energy and feeling isolation / anxiety.
The Sadler told me to go for a walk? I felt he was not taking me seriously. Sadler began to mention a few other Neurologist I have seen so when he mentioned Dr.Roger McKelvey I told him I thought McKelvey was not a good neurologist then Sadler yelled saying I have know time for that! So I sat their feeling I had done something to piss off Sadler? I asked Sadler "did I do something to piss you off"? He continued to look at the computer screen saying nothing?
Sadler then prescribed me a different medication in the hopes the side effects would not be as bad as the dialantin.
A women opened the door asking Sadler if he was okay? Sadler replied fine I believe he said. Free hand Sadler writes out a ten week schedule for when I was to take the new drug and slowly come off the other.
Now its been about 45 minutes and Sadler never said anything regarding the side effects I have been feeling, I told him when I really depressed and deep dark feelings I sometimes have thoughts of suicide. Sadler told me he doesn't have anything to do with feelings and I should see a psychiatrist. I said to myself later on after I had a chance to exorb everything, Why cant a Neurology prescribe seizure medications and ignore the many serious side effects?
Dr.Sadler informed at the end of our appointment that he was retiring in Jan 2020.
Over all I thought Dr.Sadler was unprofessional and disrespectful. I also felt ridiculed because of the three other Neurologist I had seen over the past 20 years, Sadler told me I had seen him in 2011, I said sorry I do not remember ever seeing you.

I want to let you know it took sometime and a lot of thought in letting you know what happened. Because Sadler was retiring in Jan 2020, I felt this was not reason enough to not file this complaint.
Living with a Neurological disorder is very difficult and as I found out over the past 20 years over looked by doctors as if its a common cold and told to go for a walk because the medication has made you gain a few pounds, I know this because last summer I walked almost everyday up hills with really no results. Its bad enough dealing with family & society finding a job that suits your disability and on top of that having doctor ignore you its almost unbearable.
