I was a patient of Dr. Rayson when I lived in Halifax 18 years ago. I would like Dr. Rayson to know that because he went the extra mile to ensure I received the extra treatment after chemo and radiation for HER2 breast cancer, I have lived cancer free and enjoyed watching my four grandchildren grow up. I am now retired and I just want him to know that I will never forget his thoughtfulness and kindness. Please let him know that because he was so thorough and smart I am living a wonderful life cancer free. Doctor Rayson may not remember me but I will never forget him especially when he agreed to go forth with the extra treatment when it was announced there was a breakthrough for patients who had HER2 breast cancer. I am enjoying life to the fullest (singing in choirs and playing ukulele at Seniors' Homes. I hope some day I will meet Doctor Rayson again to thank him in person for his excellent decision making. Thank you from all my family!

I saw Dr. Rayson in early spring. The doctor in Truro suggested a partial removal of my left breast, that may have to be done again or a full removal as the only option. Thankfully, I had had lung cancer and removal of part of my lungs, thus the anastesiologist could not assure me that I would come out of it, therefore was referred to Dr. Rayson. I must say it was the best thing that could have happened to me in my 74 years on this earth. After a month of sleepless nights worrying about losing a breast, this wonderful man met my husband and I, and after reassuring me that my cancer was very small, prescribed me a pill taken daily with mammograms every six months He said that this medicine may get rid of the tumor, but if not, would stop it from growing. After the first mammogram, We left his office full of hope and feeling we had met a friend. Dr. Rayson was very personnable, was so compassionate and kind. I have nothing but respect and admiration for that remarkable man. And I thank God every day for sending us to him! I had my first mammogram, and Dr. Rayson called me to telle me the tumor is shrinking!!! Had I taken the first opinion, I would have had an unnecessary surgery and would now be missing a breast. Thank you Dr. Rayson!

Dr. Rayson treated my mother who had at the time a terrible diagnosis and prognosis. He offers an amazing bedside manner without compromising on knowledge. He was straight forward when he thought the treatment route would not work for her, he helped her preserve her dignity and decision making in the end which was especially important for someone like her where she was still young and valued her active and healthy lifestyle her entire life. I will never forget Dr. Rayson for his kindness and compassion. It has been three years since my mothers passing and he still crosses my mind. Any patient would be lucky to be assigned Dr. Rayson as their Oncologist.

I could not agree more with all of these comments. I was so fortunate to have him as my oncologist 15 years ago. He was always compassionate and never rushed. You always knew he was on your side. I always felt completely cared for and treated like I mattered. He truly is an amazing person. Thank you Dr Rayson, for all you do!

He is one of the most compassionate, knowledgeable doctors I have ever dealt with. I absolutely love him! He listens to his patients and takes the time to really hear what they are saying. If only he could be cloned.

It's been 21 years since I've lost my Mom to breast cancer at 63. Dr. Rayson is still on my mind. This man is beyond kind. Since my mom's death I ended up in a position of working with doctors. Dr. Rayson has something many others don't seem to have. His enormous beauty of compassion and empathy. He is extremely approachable, smiling, and most importantly, he treats the family as well as his patients. I cry as I write this. My mom didn't make it but boy did he ever make her journey as comfortable as possible. There are no words to describe how much respect I have for him and how grateful I am to have had him to guide us. After my mother's death I was not well mentally, I had lost my will to go on. At a loss I called the office and asked for a phone call. Dr. Rayson immediately returned my call and I was greeted with his usual empathy and compassion. He later returned my call and had a Psychiatrist that, was a graduating student, amazing in grief theraphy. My appointment was immediately. 1.5 years later of bi weekly appointments I was in a better place. Dr. Rayson saved my life as did Dr. Kelly French. Who does this? I was not his patient, my mom was. I could not be more grateful. He deserves recognition. 21 years ago and I think of him so much. A doctor like no other.

Dr. Rayson is truly one of a kind. His patient, compassion and kind nature makes all the difference when going through such a hard time. I can say he made the scariest time somehow easier as he is there to listen and help in any way.
He is really a gem and anyone that has him as their doctor is in excellent hands.

No problem is too small for him to listen to compassionately and he always makes sure he addresses any issues you have and follows up to make sure everything is ok. Anyone who gets this exceptional Dr. Is a lucky person.

I feel so fortunate that I was referred to Dr Rayson as he was absolutely exceptional in walking me through the journey of Chemotherapy. He truly knows his patients and can communicate with clarity and great empathy and compassion. He gives you confidence in your ability to manage and his knowledge and experience keeps you safe........I have never experienced such respect and concern from a Doctor........I trusted him implicitly and never once doubted his decisions. I was a success story and going in it was a dismal prognosis. Anyone who is lucky enough to get him will not be disappointed....He is so well suited in his role as an Oncologist and he has a knack of really understanding you and your reactions to the devastating disease of cancer. He is upfront in his style and looks you in the eye......you feel like you are his only patient as he takes such an interest in you and sees beyond the disease. You are in good hands with this wonderful doctor!
