Rude man. Literally would not help with my edema, could not fathom that I had actual sleep issues (after seeing a sleep specialist it turned out that I have severe and complex sleep problems), has no understanding of mental health issues and literally told me to "take care of it myself". Someone with less fortitude than I might have harmed themselves after his harsh and inhumane attitude. 100% do not recommend.

Over booked, rushed and doesn't listen are his weaknesses. He's a nice man and likely a very good doctor if he were focused, normal case of doing many things average opposed to fewer things top quality(likely the industry). Been with him for many years. Truth is, I'd hate for him to be making decisions for me if I were really ill.

Dr Matous has been my G P for a year. I find him extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. He asks questions and listens. I come from Powell River to see him and the trip is worth it! The only negative is that I often wait for up to one hour when I have an appointment. One of the receptionists can be abrupt sometimes but overall the staff is nice. I am grateful for having Dr Matous as my GP.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Matous for almost two years, since relocating from Ontario.
We have found him to be attentive, extremely knowledgeable and compassionate.
So thankful to have him as our doctor!

Seemed to me that he suffered from extreme cheapness....and stingy...with his talents, his time, and his possible character. He offed me to other doctors and finally I just went elsewhere....thank heavens there is elsewhere to go for a while.

This doctor was absent even when the appt was with him....he had a young fellow look after me that seemed to dislike the elderly. I guess if you are in with him your in....if not you are treated poorly.

Clinic is dirty, smelly with no air circulation. Sort of makeshift prairie town style....again to do with thriftiness no doubt.

I've been going here for 18 years bcuz of the shortage of doctors in the valley. Finally they have a new doc working in the office. He is so much better. Dr. Matous is condescending and doesn't listen. He just want to write a prescriptions or give you the quickest feed back to get on to his next patient. He also makes a lot of promises and never follows up or keeps them. Change is good!!!

Dr. Matous has been my GP for 20 years. He is wonderful at listening and asking questions to ensure he gives the most accurate diagnosis. He will always bring in a specialist when needed to ensure you get the best care. I am thankful I got him as my Dr 20 years ago. I recommend him with full confidence to those looking for a Dr. if he is taking new patients.

Dr. Matous has been my G.P. since 2000. He's exactly what I need. Great communicator, he's been most patient (pardon the pun) with me. He asks lots of questions and I don't feel like I'm his 500th patient that day! Staff are really on the ball too. Dealing with atrial tribulation and now prostate cancer. Not alarmist and confidence inspiring. Perfect fit for me.
