Outstanding. Can't say enough about how I appreciated the care I received on my telephone call. I hadn't use this service before, but I was super pleased with my telephone call with Dr. Scheick last evening.

Dr. David Schieck has been my family’s doctor since I was an infant. He’s been wonderful with quick referrals and preventative medicine, over the years. He’s been very knowledgeable about any medical concerns that I’ve had - except regarding mental illness. I relied on outside private therapists and finding my own (distant) psychiatrist referral in order to receive proper diagnosis and treatment for mental illness. Dr. Schieck, originally, dismissed my need for a psychiatric referral - due to the long wait times. Psychiatry is not his speciality, obviously, but I wish the referral was granted sooner than when I, again, later advocated for it.

Dr. Schieck’s wait times are long - however, I never minded this. His expertise, attention, and care are worth the wait. Just make sure you don’t have other responsibilities close to your appointment time!

He has always had early availability for my more dire medical concerns. He gave me thorough, informative advice - regarding a 10cm+ ovarian cyst - that, ultimately, saved my life. I was turned away from emerge by 3 doctors, even with an internal bleed and dying tissue. He read my ultrasound and ensured I was aware of the seriousness of my condition and the risk of loosing my ovary - which I, unfortunately, did. Thanks to him, I was prepared for it. Following his advice, I returned to emerge a 4th time and underwent an emergency surgery and blood transfusion. I was very discouraged about returning to emerge, before receiving Dr. Schieck’s advice. Returning to emerge saved my life - and that is thanks to him.

Dr. Schieck is compassionate and provides thorough explanations to why he conducts the methods of care in which he does. I trust his professional medical opinions and treatment. I’m very happy to have such a good family doctor!

Dr. Schieck has been my doctor for almost 15yrs. Although wait times are an issue, he makes up for it with the care and attention he has always provided me with. He takes the time to explore different options with me regarding whatever issue has brought me in and has never tried to prescribe me with an unnecessary prescription or medication. My family has grown since I first started seeing Dr. Schieck and now everyone in family sees him. My husband thinks he's great, despite the wait times and he is very good with both of my children. I find the negative reviews very surprising.

Although Dr. Schieck has been our family doc for more than 20 yrs, it’s only been the last 5 or so that we’ve needed more consistent contact. In that time, we’ve been very happy with Dr. Schieck and highly recommend. Like others, we happy and not looking for a change because of his thoroughness.

Been with Dr. Schieck sine he started at Dawson Road. He's a good listener and discusses options. There is a long wait but that's because he is through and gives you the extra time. Due to the addictiveness of Opioids he is very hesitant to prescribe them and will recommend other options (which in my mind is a good thing). My wife and kids have all switched over to him now. He a good doctor that will send you for tests and reviews them with you but he will tell you want you need to hear, not necessarily what you want to hear, which is hard for some people to take.

My husband I started going to Dr. Schieck when we moved from the Barrie area by our daughter-in-law. His care has been nothing but excellent. When my husband was diagnosed with Stage Four lung cancel Dr. Schieck phoned our home to give my husband the diagnosis. Having spent 30+ years in the health field I know that that is not the norm for todays doctors.
I don't agree with the negative comments.

I've been with Dr Schieck since he joined the clinic. The office does get busy at times and I've had to wait for a while, but he is generally better than other doctors I've had for wait time. He is thorough, not shy about referring to specialist if needed. He is diligent about tracking health information to ensure his patient is maintaining good health. I miss the days of Bermuda shorts and the ponytail. I'd recommend him highly.

I have been seeing this doctor for a number of years. His office staff and appointment bookings are terrible. He is usually 2 plus hours late for my appointment. He is absolutely paranoid about prescribing any form of pain medication for a senior with multiple skeletal conditions and in actual chronic pain. He won't refer me to a pain specialist. Always rushing to get me out the door. He says if you have a lot of pain, you just have to learn to deal with it! Run away from this sub-standard doctor.

Dr Scheick was a good Doctor at one time. He listens to my husband and does all he can for him. But because I am a woman he doesn't listen to me. He thinks that everything is all just my imagination. He isn't good with chronic pain. He just tries to give you pills. And anti depressants with everything. Pills are not good. He won't even research other options. He's set in his ways. Acts like he knows best. Then tells you there are other doctors if you don't want to listen to him.
