Dr.Edward Shackleford and his staff (Aurora Health Care - ER, Kenosha) were professional and very attentive to my needs. I was nervous and he made me feel comfortable and even had a sense of humor.

During my emergency room visit back in April, 2008, this ER doctor was condescending and refused to order an MRI (upon my request) for my severe back pain. He told me that I'm middle-aged and naturally I must be going through pre-menopause symptoms. I was given a local shot for my back pain and sent home. I went home humiliated not knowing what to do next. Had this doctor been more professional and ordered the MRIs, he would have learned that I had 3 bulging discs in my neck and 1 deteriorating one in my lower back with nerve compression (he knew I had a history of back problems). Also, he would have spared me weeks of agonizing pain not getting the care I needed to recover. I really feel that I need to warn other women who might find themselves in need of his services.
