Looking for a primary care physician with some compassion then Dr. Jodilyn Gingold is a doctor you DON'T want. I recently had an appointment with Dr. Gingold for a routine physical but there was nothing routine about it. My appointment was for noon and I usually try to get the first appointment of the day so I don''t have to wait long especially now since I have an infant that I have to nurse.

Right after I got there a drug rep came in with lunch and the doctor spent an hour with him. Angie, Dr. Gingold's very sweet secretary even told the doc that I had to go home and breastfeed my baby but I still waited an absurd amount. At about 12:40 I told Angie I had to leave and she reassured me that I was the first person the doctor was seeing as soon as she was done with her meeting A.K.A enjoying her lunch while my baby went hungry. She did finally come out only to go in and see another patient. I could hear the doctor bragging about her artwork in the hallway - NO ONE CARES!!! What we do care about is having to wait ONE HOUR and FORTY MINUTES and to still not be seen. So at this point I took my medical records that were on the door and walked out. Now, I understand if I had to wait because she was busy seeing patients but to have to wait for close to 2 hrs. because she was enjoying her free lunch - UNACCEPTABLE.

Once I reached home and was feeding my son I received a very nasty voice mail from the doctor informing me that those records are hers and if I don't bring them back in an hour she will send the cops for me. So I called up Angie and told her she could have her records back but it would be later that evening when my husband got home since I had no one to leave the baby with at this point. Angie, who is very compassionate (unlike the doctor) was very understanding and told me that it was fine. She also told me that she understood why I left and that she had told the doctor TWICE that I was waiting for a long time and had to get home to feed my baby. Maybe Dr. Gingold was never able to nurse and doesn't understand how important it is to feed a baby.

About thirty minutes later I get another call from the b**ch of a doctor again yelling at me about the files being her property and that I have 15 minutes to bring them back or she is calling the police. I told her that I was going to bring them back but in a few hours when I had someone for the baby but she didn't want to hear that. She didn't care that I had to wake my sleeping infant and drag him to a doctors office filled with germs - as I said no compassion!!!. Luckily, I was able to get a neighbor to come over and watch my son while I went and returned her files which remind you I'm allowed to have copies of so why I had to bring them back in such a hurry... I will never know. Maybe she was afraid of me going through them and finding drawing and doodles instead of actual notes and work. Either way I will never set foot in her office again and if you actually want a decent physician I would advise you to stay clear of her!!
Oh and as a side note, this isn't the first time I've waited for an obscene amount of time to see the doctor. In the past I've waited so long that Angie has felt bad for me and given me back my copay..seriously?? Dr. Gingold you might want to not only work on being more compassionate but also your time management.

Doctor is knowledgeable with good bedside manners, but waiting time is horrendous. Appointment times are never kept. Expect to be there for at least two hours from initial appointment time. Doctor spends a good amount of time with patient; so doctor and her staff should reevaluate and allocate appropriate time for appointments.
