My son was 11 days old when Dr. Turner put in his shunt...my son had 58 shunt revisions by graduation in high school...we were grateful to Dr. Turner for treating him....we got a second opinion out of the state of Indiana...I would not have my son today if it weren't for Dr. Turner...everything that could go wrong did it was not Dr. Turners fault God was allowing it. My son is turning 32 this year he has had 63 revisions to date 5/2016. Thank you Dr. Turner we love and miss you.

My experience with Dr. Turner was nothing but a nightmare! My son was born with hydrocephalous, Dr. Turner put his shunt in when he was 3 days old. Dr Turner did 3 shunt revisions before my son was 6 months old. My son was in so much pain. After the 4th shunt was placed we went to his office to have the numerous stitches removed from his head. There I saw another little boy with a shunt, his shunt was tiny. My son's shunt looked like a giant ice cream cone on the back of his head with all the swelling and fluid buildup. When Dr. Turner came in he seemed angry my son was crying. He yanked the stitches out of his head and fluid started pouring out the holes. I asked him if this was normal and if his shunt was supposed to look like this, he said oh he's fine. I took my son to Riley Hosp asap they said my son had a life threatening spinal fluid infection that had probably been going on since his 1st shunt. They had to start all over after taking care of the infection.

Dr. Turner was there for our family. We have a very complicated diagnosis and Dr. Turner took the time to listen to our concerns and to way through the symptoms. Dr. Turner has great compassion with a sense of humor and is there for the families going through a difficult time. Dr. Turner does treat the parents withgreat respect.

My daughter had 4 surgeries in less than 4 months to replace a shunt . Needless to say she died. Only to find out the surgery never ever took. I thought he was the best, only later did I find out the whole truth. Just because someone has a reputation for doing the most surgries doesn't make them the best. It just means more money in their pocket.

Awesome doctor - great sense of humor, right to the point. tested for conditions years of other drs had not addressed. His assistant, Amber (AJ) is the best I've ever seen at helping w/paperwork and returning calls, e/m, faxes, etc. He was able to help my husband by installing a Spinal Cord Stimulator in his epidural area when other doctors said it would involve a laminectomy and removing Herrington Rods placed 40 yrs ago for scoliois. We were from out of town and another dr from same town referred us. He was willing to work us in that day so we wouldn't have to make a return trip. The lady who sets up insurance added our insurance herself since that staff had already gone for the day. Wonderful, caring people!!!!!!

We went to Dr. Turner for an "expert" opinion when I was pregnant. During the 18 wk. ultrasound it was found that our baby had a problem that would require surgery at birth by a neurosurgeon. We were referred to Dr. Turner but after 2 visits with him the 2nd of which it was clear he would not be doing our surgery! With absolutely no feeling at all, he told us our baby would be a "vegetable," would be "mentally and physically handicapped with no quality of life." He told us the kind thing to do would be to terminate! We were devastated! But, determined to have our baby and let God make the choices for us, not Dr. Turner! Then we got a 2nd opinion from Dr. Boaz who was so compassionate to our situation & so smart. He said, "let's just wait and see what happens, there's still hope!" Our baby has no mental handicaps at all, no feeding tube, is adorable & so smart! Could not be happier! How many other times has he been so wrong, and encouraged parents to terminate a child? Sad!

DR.TURNER WAS MY DAUGHTER'S NEURO DOC FOR 25+ YEARS. HE SAW HER THROUGH MANY SURGERIES. WITH A VERY DIFFICULT MEDICAL HISTORY HE AND HIS STAFF WERE ALWAYS FORTHRIGHT AND SINCERE.HE IS EXCELLENT WITH PEDS & ADULTS. SOMETIMES WE HAD LONG WAITS BUT WE KNEW IT WAS DUE TO THE MANY EMERGENCIES HE DELT WITH. WE DID NOT MIND WAITING BECAUSE AT SOMETIME OTHER PAITENTS HAD TO WAIT WHILE HE DELT WITH OUR EMERGENCIES.

One of the very best Neurosurgeons I have ever had, I have been through many in my life and he is topps, always a smile and down to earth, treating people like people, instead of looking down from a high horse at the rest of the world like so many do. He is very caring, I can't say enough good things about him, except when GOD made this man they threw the mold away!!!
