Dr Grischkan repaired my inguinal hernia 15 yrs ago. Just repaired the other side in October (much worse). He hasn’t lost his touch! Job well done and rapid recovery.

I had been in contact with the Hernia Center of OHIO to discuss my lifelong issues with abdominal concerns
Dr. Grischan strongly encouraged me to go to the facility for an in-person consult. Even though it was a 3+ hour drive, Doctor was confident that they could help. On one hand I was highly impressed that the doctor answered his own calls, I was a little dismayed that they 1 had no consult with my insurance, 2 never discussed a copay for the office visit, and expected me to have 150$ for the visit. The doctor talked with me for a few minutes (5) and did not examine the hernia directly hand on. The office personnel expected me to have the 150$ for the office visit, which still included no proof they had consulted my insurance.. I left dismayed and let down that there was no suggestions for some type of intervention .I know people have to get paid but for the reasons noted above, but the lack of proof and communications with my insurance, my not being advised as to the fee, and the demand to have the office fee on hand, left me very frustrated. I did pay the fee ASAP but never received the detail of the office visit and bill what I had requested multiple times. The 'received' receipt only noted the day and amount with the hand written phrase "office visit". I have no doubts that Dr. GRISCHKAN is a skilled and capable surgeon, but the overall experience was not positive. Would I recommend the Hernia Center of Ohio? YES!, but with the suggestion that potential patients get as much info as possible beforehand.

I went to Dr. Grischkan because I had developed an inguinal hernia while on vacation with my family. I was quite worried because, having friends who had hernia surgeries elsewhere in the past, I knew the results can be mixed when going to just any general surgeon. Because of this concern, I researched many options in the US and Canada and found that we have a specialist in hernia repair right here in NE Ohio. I immediately scheduled an appointment with Dr. Grischkan at the Hernia Center of Ohio to hear what I was up against. Not only did Dr. Grischkan promise a much quicker recovery than anything I had read about, but he stayed with me in the consultation long enough to help me understand what I was dealing with. He put me at ease with his calm but confident demeanor, and patiently answered all of my questions. I got on the surgery schedule quite soon, and four days after surgery I was already hiking near lake Michigan with my 2 two year old son on my back!

I had hernia surgery March 4,2021 was there at 1pm was heading home by 5pm everything went the way he said it would. Went back to work in a week .

He is the best and unique in his approach to the hernia repairs. He repaired my complex large size hernia without using mesh. I strongly recommend him if you are looking for a good hernia repair surgeon

Honestly, if you need Hernia surgery, go to Dr. David Grischkam. I have never recommended any Dr. or Surgeon before but this is a no brainer. I had hernia mesh plug and patch surgery 17 years ago and have had pain the entire time. The burning pain got so bad I had to do something. I went to a very large well known hospital and was told the surgery was too risky and had real potential complications from the operation that would scare anyone away. I found Dr. David Grischkan and he was positive that he could remove my mesh and fix all my pain without any complications. Thank-God for him as I can go on living my life.
