Doesn't do children and said they don't know and blood specialist that does. Evidently doesn't care enough about children to find out where I can take my child.

The staff is very helpful and attentive. They try their hardest answer any questions you may have. In relation to this, the wait times vary, as the staff tries to properly address any concerns a patient may have. Dr. Tate has been in practice a long time. He has seen a lot of cancer cases, as well as hematologic cases; however, he is still just a general oncologist/hematologist in a small foothills cancer practice with limited resources and cancer exposure. He is competent in some areas, but very weak in others. In my situation, he was presented with a difficult case, and rather than consulting someone with more expertise, he did not accept his fallacies, but rather pushed on with his own belief of the best treatment. His bedside manner is terrible. He attempts to show empathy, but in reality it just sounds like he's reading from a script. If you have a life-threatening cancer, I'm not sure I would recommend putting your life in the hands of a single doctor such as Dr. Tate.

Excellent physician! Cared for my wife (breast cancer) - she received superb care - great staff. We did cross swords during her treatment regarding an issue - but resolved it to our satisfaction. Up to date in terms of treatment options.
