Not only did this Dr keep his hooks in me for years because I said no to his trial, nothing has reoccured. After 20 visits and 20 more calls he still uses the wrong name, wrong data and refuses to give any positive feedback. Blood work has been great, scans great, pulmonary test perfect. He refuses to cut me loose. The 32 page document on the trial drug to stop cancer from coming back could have given me more cancers, more diseases, even death. MSK Urologist Dr Russo is thee best. Saved my life. Motzer, garbage and I agree with all these comments. Even saying back 20yrs. Time to retire Motzer!!!

I am writing this review 6 days after the passing of my father., After someone dies , there are always questions that linger , and closure is important. Dr. Motzer may be technically a good or even brilliant doctor. As a human being however,he is severely lacking , and I think one can’t be a good doctor without compassion , and it seems dr. Motzer has none.

I will never recommend doctor Motzer to anyone.
He does not go attentively into the dynamics of the disease development.
He does not like it when the patient or care giver asks questions, his answer: ”Look for another doctor” this is not a doctor's answer.
We had a feeling, that he wanted to get rid of my husband as a patient. None of his meds worked and he kept telling us that he has no other treatment. He has list of pills and doesn’t want to think what else he can do to prolong patient life.
We did not feel that, as a doctor, he did everything possible to prolong my husband' s life. He waited to prescribe radiation until it was too late.
At the same time, I am really grateful to the support staff, they were very caring and professional.

Dr Motzar is cold as ice. No compassion. No bedside manner. Yes he is knowledgeable but not comforting at all. I know he can't change the diagnosis but he sure needs some instructions on kindness

We thank God for Dr. Motzer. After being told by our local hospital that palliative care was the best option, we travelled to New York for a second opinion. It's been a year, and everything continues to be fine. Definitely worth the trip!

Dr. Motzer is a heartless, egotistical doctor who has no regard for his patients or their families. He is not God but thinks he is. Over promises, under delivers and has horrific bedside manners. I know he renowned but there are alot of amazing doctors in New York. Stay far far away

Dr. Motzer is one of the most respected and knowledgeable research physicians in Kidney Cancer oncology. Many would asserts he is the world's leading expert on knowledge of the disease. But I echo many of the negative comments here. He ran four late for our appointment. His bedisde manner and attitude was one more interested in curing the disease than treating the patient. By that I mean your individual treatment may very well take a back seat to research goals. In my case, the pathologists at Sloan Kettering misdiagnosed my cancer as mesothelioma. This diagnosis was found to be wrong by two other hospitals including MD Andersen. When Dr Motzer believed I had mesothelioma, he discharged me from his care saying that he does not treat mesothelioma.

I was treated in 1993 from Stage 4 Cancer at memorial Sloan Kettering by Dr. Motzer. After 5 months of chemotherapy, he told me I would be dead within 2 months, and discharged me. I was fortunate enoughj to try alternative medicine which cured me within 5 months. When I called Dr. Motzer to tell him of my good luck, he was not interested. To make matters worse, his office called my family each year for the next 4 years to see if I was still alive. My lawyer had to get involved to stop the harassing phone calls.

Dr. Motzer is a horrendous doctor. He will try a treatment one time, if it does not work, he will discharge the patient from his care. His bedside manner is appalling and frankly he does not seem to care about his patients. I would rather die of cancer than ever be a patient of Dr. Motzer.
