This doctor was the only one to finally take me seriously enough to fit me with a holster monitor at the age of 35. Discovered my ‘electrical’ heart problem and had me scheduled for surgery to insert a pacemaker within a few days. I have not blacked out or fallen to the floor once in the 35 years since. I owe Dr. Fournier a lifetime of thank you’s for not dismissing me and giving me back my freedom and independence.

I was deeply disappointed with dr Fournier. My husband encountered a cardiac arrest under his care. He should of been fitted with a fibulator before the Covid. August 2021 he was in admitted to emergency with no vision in his eye. They kept at st Mary’s for a week running test after test. Prognosis he had stage 4 cancer. Refered to oncology which turned out to be sarcoidosis and not cancer. While in hospital the stroke and heart dept under dr wein told my husband he was to old to have a fibulator installed. After this whole cancer ordeal was over, he went to visit dr Fournier in dec 2021. The dr should have taken a look at my husbands records, Why wasn’t he advised to have a fibulator installed at this time we will never know, he was diagnosed with an irregular heart rate long ago and was taking meds for it, They had him on a heart monitor in the hospital but lost the results. In feb 2022, my husband suffered a cardiac arrest but survived with memory issues. The warning signs were all there, however actions to prevent this from happening were ignored. Thx to st Mary’s my husband can no longer drive and needs supervision on a regular basis,

Had a stress today with Dr. Fournier at St.Mary's. What a wonderful man. Plesant, friendly and personable. Took time to ask questions, made me feel at ease. And the staff working with him were amazing, friendly, kind and humorous. I loved them all.

I've seen many different doctors in my lifetime, and Dr Fournier is by far my favourite! He's extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and has the best personality . He always makes me feel at ease. Great doctor.

Though he seems to know his stuff as a cardiologist, he has great personality and communication problems that make him rather unprofessional. Does not give a straight answer to a straight question. Needlessly argumentative, confrontational, even bullying. Fails to give some basic information on particular heart conditions as a result.
Instead of simply listening to the patient, he constantly second-guesses, attempts to interpret (wrongly) what patient is saying, and ascribes motivations to the patient the patient does not have. He always wants to be a mind reader - but is really bad at it. Instead of simply listening to what is said and asking for clarification if necessary. Consequently he wastes time on irrelevant nonsense based on his wrongheaded, negative and demeaning assumptions about the patient. Likes to put down patient, prove the patient wrong - when that is beside the point.
Overly simplistic in his responses. When asked for details about treatment options and quality of life issues he simply said "well if this is not treated you are going to die" – when there was absolutely no suggestion whatsoever of foregoing treatment. Bedside manner does not even come into it with him.

Just called for a consultation,
He conducted a stress test over 15 years ago and was very helpful in diagnosis.
However, because its been so long, my file with him is closed and I was therefore unable to get a consultation as he is not taking any NEW patients at this time.
Disappointing...
