I felt so well-cared for by Dr Carlson. I had gone to many doctors before him ,searching for a doctor that I could trust and rely on. I had been diagnosed with something quite rare and the other doctors seemed to guess on my treatment program, Dr Carlson immediately knew how to move forward, he is compassionate and honest. I really am very fond of him and feel blessed to have had him as my doctor. The only drawback is that the Stanford Cancer Center is super busy and often runs behind.

Dr. Carlson has been for 10 years and still is the chair of the national committee that sets breast cancer protocol. He is not a general oncologist. He only treats and researches breast cancer. He is smart, personable, very knowledgeable about treatments around the US as well as the world for breast cancer. Check his bio on the stanford comprehsive cancer center for more details. He has excellent judgment and is very mindful of the toxic nature of treatments that may or may not extend the survival rate of an individual (vs. the time to progression of the breast cancer after a particular treatment). He knows the clinical trials around the country. If one cannot use him as one's primary oncologist, consider him for a second opinion. I recommend him without reservation.
