Horrible experience with Dr Hudson.. all he cares about is making money. Doesn’t really look into your case or deal with the emotions involved. The worst part was when I was on the table .. he told me to spread my legs

Dr Hudson is the most amazing doctor and person ever! He treated my whole body and ensured that all of me was ready to have a baby. He picked up the pieces after 7 failed cycles at another clinic. He and his staff treated me like a person rather than a number. Dr Hudson was always kind and caring. He would change the protocol for the meds even in the middle of a cycle becuase he judged that it would be beneficial. He was willing to look at and try new techniques that he thought would benefit me. I never once found he was just doing things to get more money. I concieved a child the first cycle with him as my doctor and went on to conceive a second the next time we tried. He is very much there to help people conceive and carry a child to term! For the people who commented on the pain, I would just say that the process itself is not enjoyable in the least but it was definitely less painful with Dr. Hudson than at the first clinic I went to. I have my family thanks to him! I can't imagine what would have happened had we not changed to his clinic.

The comment below reflects much of our experience with Dr. Hudson. There's a real push to keep going on to more complex and expensive treatments, and the patient's wants and questions are not listened to. The way inofrmation is formulated is quite manipulative in a specific direction. I remember at the beginning of the visits and procedures, Dr. Hudson's colleague turned to my husband and said: "Women can love any child, but we men need to have children with our own biology". Later I realized how this one statement, and the focus towards the male (less resistant to the physical aspects of IVF, more income on average) in the couple, was perfectly timed to keep us going. This and the ongoing nudging towards more drugs and riskier procedures caused me to say no to the whole ordeal.
We now have two beautiful children, adopted at birth from the US and Japan.

I was a patient here when his practice was just starting out 2003 ? The memories I have of my experiences are not good. I endured 2 rounds of IVF treatment. I had the egg collection done in his office with insufficient or no PROPER anesthesia- some kind of acupuncture with needles in my ears as pain relief that was painful in itself and provided NO relief. I was in excruciating pain throughout this office gongshow trying not to cry too loudly because of the other patients sat next door. I remember being handed all sorts of vials of drugs and instructions on how I had to mix them by the receptionist- procedures for using different syringes that was complicated and overwhelming. The receptionist actually told me that she had gotten pregnant while on birth control!!!! To describe her as insensitive would be a massive understatement. Dr Hudson convinced us that ICSI was the best choice if we going to go to all this trouble which cost extra. Neither of the cycles produced a pregnancy. We then left for Ireland where I did 2 more cycles of IVF and conceived both times without ICSI. I was given a preloaded syringe so no breaking open vials and mixing syringes. I eventually gave birth after the 2nd IVF cycle. I felt very much a guinea pig for dr Hudson's "practice". I can only hope his treatments and procedures have improved. These poor women so vulnerable and desperate like I was deserve better treatment than I recieved. Suffice to say my memories are harrowing. My experience of such physical pain during procedures that should only have been done in an operating room and emotional pain in dealing with the receptionist's outrageously insensitive manner should never have happened. Theres just no excuse for it.

I have been going to Dr. Hudson for 5 years. He helped us create our daughter and hopefully our 2nd child. His bedside manner is no “sugar coating” which is necessary when giving hard facts. He really is nice otherwise

I saw Dr.Hudson in the early to mid nineties,he was a fabulous doctor over the five years I had pleasure of knowing him. I now have a twenty-six year old daughter, and a twenty-three son,I may have had a third child if he hadn't moved to Victoria. Colleen Hodgson

Thanks to Dr. Hudson and his wonderful team, we were able to concieve and carry to the term our wonderful son. After 2 clinics in Vancouver gave up on our cases... after we had multiple pregnancy losses, we found our miracle Dr. Hudson. Who pretty much rebuilt my body and the first time in 10 years of IVF treatments we carried our boy to the term. We are forever thankfull and forever praying for that day when we met Dr. Hudson for the first time. We didnt know where to go and whom else to ask for help. We we so lost ... Dr. Hudson was the only doctor who found and adressed the issue (apparently I have a sever adenomyoses). No Genesis (Olives Doctors now) or PCRM didnt even bother to check it! Thank you Dr. Hudson and the Team from all our hearts for our miracle Baby Boy!

Dr. Hudson and his team are wonderful. He was so patient with all our questions and gave very clear answers. They made sure we understood what was happening every step of the way during our IVF cycle. We are so thankful for their help and care and they were able to help us conceive.

VFC is fine as an IVF place but the same as anywhere else really - the procedures are all pretty standard and some of his staff are condescending. Dr H was very nice at first, I think later he lost interest. The lab is average. Dr G is very good; it's a good idea to have more doctors so patient care is bolstered. Overall a good place if you live on the island.
