Don't worry folks. She quit practicing as a GP. Does a desk job , I understand, maybe compiling data or something at one hospital in Vancouver, I hear. Good.

Dr. Barrigar has the WORST bedside manner I've ever experienced with a doctor. Unfortunately she was my doctor for 2 years as it took me a while to find another female doctor who was accepting patients. She's condescending and incredibly cold- to the point of being shocking. She may be medically trained but has zero compassion, empathy or understanding. I don't feel that working with the public is a strong suit for her.

I saw Dr Barrigar a few times after my file was passed to her when my previous doctor retired. I found her to be quite condescending and somewhat terse. Then she moved her practice clear across the city which meant I had to find yet another GP and then she refused to pass on my medical records to my new doctor until I paid a $40 fee. Outrageous.

Dr. Barrigar is a great doctor. Early on, I had some difficulty with her methods and I actually tried another doctor. However, I came back to Dr. Barrigar. She helped me through a really rough time in my life. She has my trust and I don't hesitate to see her now. The clinic is very efficient. You never have to wait long.

I'm surprised at the negative reviews. I have had numerous visits since Dr. Barrigar came to this practice and find her excellent. I may have waited once for 20 minutes; I'm happy to wait if an urgent situation is being looked after. Family doctors have to be more businesslike in order to look after all of us and to make staying in family practice viable. It makes sense that if you have several issues you make more than one appointment. Otherwise the rest of the patients wait and wait. When she looks at and types into her laptop; this means she is reviewing test results and medications and recording what I'm saying. Why leave it all to memory? She has looked after me incredibly well and I find her very knowledgeable and up to date on recent medical studies. The office staff are also very helpful and courteous.

I have found Dr. Barrigar extremely helpful, kind and courteous. She takes a serious and sincere interest in my health needs and refers me to specialists as necessary. She appears to be very knowledgeable and ethical. I feel fortunate to have her as my doctor. Her office staff are invariably lovely - they make every effort to arrange appointments as soon as possible and they follow up very quickly if referrals are required. I am fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Barrigar and to have the assistance of her office group.

Dr. Barrigar has improved her bed-side manner immensely,& her knowledge is really good. But almost every visit, money is stressed in one way or another: too many questions, make another appointment so that she gets paid; a phone call at home in an emergency, she says she doesn't get paid; copies of test results, $1.40 per page; she says the staff is too busy, & they don't really want to do this.

In a city where you wait two years to get a family doctor, I feel honoured to have Dr Barrigar as my doctor. I was raised by European parents who taught me preventative medicine--and if you have minor colds or ailments you try to solve them yourself before running to a dr. I recently had several serious medical problems and was hospitalized. Dr B. was excellent. She has always taken the time to follow up with me, and she spends time with you in an appt-- if you need it. There have been times when i've only needed a 10 min appt in the past. But when i needed a longer one, Dr B took the time. I feel she is an excellent dr: these are very difficult times for family practices. People need to learn to take care of the small stuff. The doctors at Bayswater are doing their best to take care of their patients.

I'm quite surprised by the comments about Dr. Barrigar, she has always been helpful to me and especially my kids. She never once showed that she was uncertain about anything i've gone to see her about, she was always sure of the medical issues we went to see about.
