Not helpful at all, remarkably insensitive and stubborn.

His priority seems to be to protect the illusion that he is helpful though his priority is clearly to serve himself rather than actually being of genuine help to the patient.

It's easy to get caught up in the hoopla of this department when one is not feeling well, yet I have not met a single person who visited him and his department and who genuinely had any positive feedback about the experience actually being helpful to their case. It's so sad.

Once I realized his limitations it became clear that he put more energy into trying to discourage his patients from pursuing other pain management approaches and opinions rather than in actually trying to find ways to help in the first place.

Useless waste of time to end up turning in circles resulting in feeling much worse. If this is what a pain clinic and what pain management is about, it would be best to look elsewhere. It was a horrible experience that took so much energy for absolutely nothing, neither from a technical know-how, nor from a humane perspective.

Talk to a few patients in person about their experiences, it won't take long for you to understand what's really going on and how this department isn't equipped to help, and deeply lacks the know-how to actually make a difference...(yet they somehow seem to believe they're helpful even though they are the primary witnesses of their own flagrant shortcomings)....a very sad state of affairs.

J'ai attendu tellement longtemps pour être vu en clinique de la douleur pour me faire dire que mon probleme est que je suis paresseuse et que je ne vais pas mieux parceque je ne le veux pas vraiment. J'ai vécu de la discrimination par ce médecin et je comte déposer une plainte. Il n'a voulu essayer aucun traitements parceque pour lui c'était inutile puisque ma douleure est seulement dans ma tête.

My experience with the well-meaning Dr. Ware and the pain clinic at MGH is that the #1 thing he and his colleagues know is that they don't know what to do, and that their recommendations are a kind of spin-the-wheel. Let's try this! Who knows? Maybe it will work. And then it doesn't. So hey, what the heck, let's spin the wheel again. I suppose it's not his fault. Maybe it's the fault of the state of the art of medicine and pharmaceuticals today. But the regular dashing of hopes makes one feel like this isn't much different than medieval medicine. Except that we keep more thorough records, and require more schooling for the sake of getting the official certification to become the professionals who can officially suggest (and prescribe) this or that, which may or may not work, who knows.

Dr. Ware is empathetic, intelligent, and dedicated. He is willing to try multiple strategies for pain management, including reading about new treatment options. I've had pain doctors before. Dr. Ware is among the best and the brightest.

Dr Ware is an attentive and sympathetic man. I believe he genuinely cares about his patients. In my case he took the time to call me at home and follow up on the resulting affect of the medication he had prescribed. If you suffer from pain you will be in good hands with Mark.

Open minded and takes time with each patinet..Listens well,,But sometimes doesnot seem to understand the PAIN and how much it can affect your quality of life if the dosage is not enough,, I understand all narcotics have side effects bit losing the the ablity to do things is unbearble at times!!

J'ai été suivi par Dr Ware durant + de 2 ans. C'est un médecin extraordinaire. Très attentionné. Il oeuvre dans une discipline peu concrète (douleurs chroniques) mais combien importante pour ceux qui souffrent quotidiennement. Dr Ware m'a beaucoup aidé a comprendre le mécanisme de la douleur et son incidence sur ma vie. Il est super professionnel, d'une politesse hors du commun et très attentioné !

Je suis suivie par le Dr Ware depuis près d'un an pour des douleurs chroniques et ce médecin est TRÈS compétent et surtout TRÈS COMPATISSANT. Je le vois une fois/2mois. Pour ceux qui souffre de douleurs chroniques, le Dr Ware s'avère le plus compétent que j'ai eu jusqu'à maintenant.
