Dr. Katz is truly interested in understanding the patient's illness and concerns. He was thorough in his evaluation my illness and made feel that I'd finally found a doctor who was on my side. At the time I first saw Dr. Katz, I had been struggling with the symptoms of (CFS) Chonic Fatigue Syndrome and with unresponsive physicians for 6 years. Dr. Katz did a thorough evaluation of my symptoms including lengthy interviews with me and my spouse. He identified a potential source of my worst symptoms as a previously undetected sleep disorder. (I was under the care of a neurologist who was treating me for sleep apnea, with little impact on my symptoms.) The sleep specialist he sent me to verified the disorder (PLMD) and prescribed a Parkinson's medication which has enabled me to function at a near normal level for the past 9 years. Prior to that, my employer and disability insurance doctors had estimated my functional capability as 15% of normal and too low to be permitted to work.

Dr. Katz is wonderful! He's been the most compassionate and helpful doctor that I've ever been to and in my two year search for an answer to my chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, he has been the only doctor (of many) that seems to understand how debilitating CF/FM is. I also appreciate the fact that he is willing to work with me rather than just demanding that I take this or that drug and than dismissing me as others have done. He is the rare doctor that actually LISTENS to what I say--then tries to find a solution!

Dr Katz is also a specialist in Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. He is very compassionate and knowlegeable in these particular areas. In the 4+ years I've been under his care, I have never once felt like he was rushing me out of his office to see the next patient; he's about as good as they come. I could not recommend him more highly. One hint though, the first appointment, he does most of the talking, after that, he leaves it up to you to state your case, so don't wait for him to start, just jump right in there and let him know what's been going on. Once you get going he'll take up the gauntlent and do his best to provide you with the best possible care, or refer you to someone else if it's not in his field of expertise.
