I am glad to hear he is no longer doing surgery. Six years ago he did a "routine" spinal fusion on me. I ended up in a wheelchair and he had no reason why this happened. I also contracted a near fatal E-coli bacteria infection. He ruined my life. I am only sorry I did not have the money to sue him!

Biggest jerk that walked this earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He gave me 3 blind injections and scheduled my surgery then I get a call from the nurse cancelling my surgery telling me he no longer is going to perform surgery or injections. If there is a lawsuit against him, sign me up!!!!

Excellent surgeon. Very knowledgeable. Explained the surgical procedure well and the post op treatment. Friendly-sociable. Helpful with any of my health concerns. Through the years has become a friend to my husband and me. I have recommended Dr. Hanley to several people. I cannot praise Dr. Hanley highly enough.

Dr. Hanley may not have the most friendly personality but he is very thorough in finding out exactly what your medical issues are. He will listen and answer any questions you may have. I feel as though he has no problem letting you be a part of your medical care. With my condition I need the best doctor possible and I feel I have found that with Dr. Hanley!

Very happy with results of coccyxectomy. It was broken off and caused much pain for 50 years. It takes some time to heal but feels SO much better, it is amazing. I never thought I would be almost free of that pain. He is somewhat distant but it was important he was SKILLED, not Mr. Personality. He fixed what hurt!

He does not have the great bedside manner as some doctors, but he is VERY knowledgeable and has an excellent reputation. Beware of any reviews of patients who are not doctors who wish to think they are.

In my opinion, he is very arrogant! I traveled several hours to see him. He was uninterested in what I had to say about my condition, his suggestion was to remove my tailbone. (?) My tailbone is not the problem! That appt. was a total waste of time and money to me! If you are an uninformed patient and do not like to participate in your own care, then 'maybe' he would be right for you. I will not be going back to him.
