As others have already stated - arrogant, big ego, talks but doesn’t listen. He obviously failed the courtesy course at school. If you are looking for a Dr that is interested & caring enough to understanding your ailment Turk is NOT for you!!! Treats his patients like cattle.

Dr. Turk has done knee replacements on both my knees. He did a total knee replacement surgery on my right knee in February 2019. Received good service, had steady improvement. Total flexibility returned in 6 weeks. Good support from home and Ventura Orthopedics physical therapy. Continued exercises and walks for months since the surgery. However, the pain persists in the knee 2 years after the surgery.
Second knee TKR in May 2020. Quick recovery of flexibility. Home physical therapy was poor, but some of the therapists at Ventura Orthopedics were good, but the place was considerably less organized in 2020 than in 2019. Discussed the matter of pain in both knees with Dr. Turk, especially for the one that had been operated in 2019 Feb. Dr. Turk was unable to diagnose the problem. He recommended pain killers, and the most he could offer was another surgery. The pain continues 10 months after the surgery, especially when walking or climbing stairs.
Dr. Turk and his staff have never been rude. Long waits in 2020 compared to 2019. No follow up support in 2020. I had hoped for more than a couple of perfunctory surveys - which I completed.

Dr. Turk did a total hip replacement surgery for me 3 years ago. After complaining that the joint was unstable and I kept falling, he was not truthful and said it was arthritis or my posture had changed. I then got 2 other opinions from orthopedic surgeons. They both said the cup was originally put in wrong . So..... I just had another surgery by a different doctor on same hip to correct the lousy job Turk did. I felt belittled every time I saw him. I will never go to him again. How can I trust him?

I read these comments and don't understand where the problems with his communication skills come up. He spent time talking to us, joking around, giving detailed explanations of things, etc. So not only is he highly recommend for his excellent skills, he was also pleasant to deal with. We are scheduled for surgery in a couple of weeks (my wife).

I had Dr Turk to a 10 year check on a hip replacement done in Scottsdale. My surgeon there was pretty arrogant but a darned good surgeon. I found Dr Turk to be personable, knowledgeable and would have him do my hip now that I am here in CA if it needed it, I felt like he was very honest and even complimented the other surgeons work. will go back to this Dr if I need anything in the future. BTW I am a dentist but I didn't tell him that

Dr. Turk is not only an outstanding surgeon but also a likeable doctor with terrific interpersonal skills and a wonderful sense of humor. He did both of my wife’s knee replacements with awesome results.

I just had my initial consultation about hip replacement surgery. I had read the reviews on this site, but was not deterred. I prefer an excellent surgeon to a chatty, perhaps less qualified physician. He was kind, humorous, reviewed the procedure he will do and answered my questions. I feel completely at ease having this doctor replace my hips. Will give an update post-op.

Excellent surgeon devoid of personality. Would be better suited to job with no contact with people. A shameful waste of great talent. Wonder if he will ever work on people skills. Anyone who disagrees with him is told they have a bad attitude which is hampering their healing process. A bully.

Dr. Turk has the worst bedside manner I have ever come across with any Doctor ever. He operated on my mother-in-law who had dementia and was awful with dealing with her and me. I have been told by my friends in the medical field that he is the BEST surgeon, so if you can stand interacting with him it's a win, win. Wouldn't you think he would read a few of these reviews and work on his interaction with people if he is SO SMART!
