I have had 4 nose surgeries with Dr. Menick. Each has resulted in wonderful results. The 1st was to correct a staph infection from a Las Vegas surgeon that also resulted in a crater like deformity on the left side of my nose. The others were for breaks following rear end car accidents. My last surgery involved taking a sliver of a rib to help rebuild my nose. My pre-surgery oxygen levels were zero percent on one side and 20 per cent on the other. Amazingly, both sides were restored to 100 per cent. All of my surgeries were high risk and extremely complicated. I have seen nearly 100 of Dr. Menick's patients over the years of my treatments. All have been highly satisfied with their results. Tina and Rachel provide top staff help and support.

Dr Menick needs to retire! He completely botched my nose. It has completely collapsed, confirmed by two ENT’s. Inside is collapsed and the outside is starting to cave in. I have lumps and bumps all over my bridge, and depressions in my tip and collumella. It’s all over the place. I have a big indentation on my bridge, which looks like a huge dent. My nose is too thick to wear glasses and I end up with major red marks (he flattened the bridge too much into a square shape and so glasses never fit now). When I’ve reached out to him with pictures he ignores the emails as do his office manager. They take the money, and no follow up. I believe they thrive on out of town patients who come in for his supposed expertise and then they just ignore them afterwards as their noses start to disintegrate over time.
He is too old to be doing this job, too uncaring, too incompetent.

From an Italian patient

In October 2015, after a biopsy, my dermatologist in Nottingham, Great Britain, told me that the Basel Cell Carcinomas (BCCs) in my nose had returned. BCCs had been found and surgically removed years ago.
The dermatologist's determination was that the BCCs were so extensive this time that my nose must be removed and a new nose reconstructed.
He said that the most reputable doctor unanimously considered being the best in the world for nose reconstruction was Dr Frederick Menick in Tucson, Arizona.
After having contacted Dr Menick by email I went to Tucson accompanied by my wife. It was late January 2016 and the nasal reconstruction required me to stay in Tucson with the exception of short returns home to Italy, until the beginning of March 2017.
My case has been more complicated than expected, requiring extensive surgeries and recuperation time.
During our stay in Tucson I personally saw that Dr Menick is with no doubt the best Doctor in the world for many cases, and the only one in the world for conditions such as mine or even worse.
In my opinion there is evidence and confirmation of my statement in the new Two Volume Work by Dr Menick: Aesthetic Nasal Reconstruction – Principles and Practice.
“Dr Michelangelo” Menick, as I like to call him, is not only the unbelievable “Miracle Doctor” as so very many patients have testified, but he is also a great person, a real “Mensch” as the Germans would say, meaning a person of noble character to admire and emulate.
His dedication to his profession and patients is endless. He saw me every day during my stay in Tucson, including Saturdays.

I am extremely grateful to Dr. Menick. I feel at last whole again after living for nearly 2 years with a nose that looked deformed following a flap surgery from another doctor. Finally, I. can look in the mirror and recognize myself again. The results exceeded my expectation. Dr Menick is a genius. I appreciated also the very helpful advice given to me by his staff, Rachel and Tina.

I needed extensive rebuilding on my bridge and tip. Not only he did not rebuild my nose as we discussed he made it even thinner than before. My nose has the same issues as it did before the revision with him- upturned tip, scooped bridge, short and ugly. Now is even worse because he made my nose extremely crooked, asymmetric, and uneven with lots of visible bumps. Each side of the nose looks like it is from a separate face. I had 4 consultations with him and we were both on the same page about the goals. He was very confident that he can reach those goals. Now, after the horrifying outcome of the surgery, he says that he's done the best of his ability. If he was upfront about what he can actually achieve I would have gone with someone else. He made me think that there is no limit to what he can do in terms of rebuilding. My nose does not look "rebuild" although I have a 3-inch scar on my rib cage. I have no idea where all that cartilage from my rib plus what I had in my septum went because it did not go on my nose. Another thing he obviously has no clue about is attractive facial proportions. He left me with a kid size nose on my big and wide face. He narrowed my bridge and entire nose when it was already too narrow and I shared that concern with him multiple times. He did not want to make my nose wider although I wanted that so I compromised to leave it as it is and rebuild the bridge and tip from that frame. He did the exactly opposite of everything we agreed on before the surgery. He shaved my radix on the sides and way more on one side when I asked for it to be made wider because the first surgery made it thin and deformed. He made it way worse and I doubt that it can be corrected. My eyes don’t look even anymore because of how crooked and asymmetric the radix is. It looks like one eye is put lower and further to the side than compared to the other. The tip is leaning to one side and it has an ugly and upturned look from the front and side (especially one side). I was told by his receptionist that he makes natural looking noses but this cannot look any more botched and fake. I am horrified and still in disbelief that someone who is known to rebuild noses can ruin mine even further than before. If I could add photos here I would to see how disgusting my nose is.

Dr. Menick specializes in the reconstruction of complicated nasal and facial deformities caused by cancer, trauma, gunshots, fireworks and other type of explosions and fires. My visit and care was due to skin cancer surgery done elsewhere that was done incorrectly and left a less than ideal result. Dr. Menick over the next year reconstructed my nose to a level that I never expected to be possible. Menick used a lot of my ear to do this but the ear will heal and will never be noticeable. Menick is a genius and specializes in the complex so to see negative reviews on here is very unusual. Menick sees patients on Saturdays and he even saw me on Thanksgiving one year. At any rate, I highly recommend Menick for any complicated nasal or facial reconstruction due to cancer, trauma etc. Aside from my great experience, I was able to see first hand the deep level of reconstruction by meeting and seeing other patients in the waiting room over the year and half of surgery that I faced.

Deeply disturbing. Dr Menick has caused extensive nerve damage, injured eyes,Fracture to orbital floor. Scarring is painful and disfiguring. Extensive facial paralysis with inability to properly open mouth. Deformity is obvious. Have been asked if I had been in accident(MVA) by surgeon who attempted to determine what had occurred. Menick stated "women are never satisfied as you have to get it just right!"

I am very surprised to read negative commments about Dr. Menick. My face, especially my nose, has had a very important damage and I don't thnk that anyone in the world could have done whar he did. He basically allowed me to get my life back, without judging, with empathy, respect and accepted to perform on my his unbeleivable talent, I will never be able to thank him enough.

BEWARE! Do research. Dr Menick had used far too many people to practice his techniques on. The outcome of my surgery is horrific. Far worse than before. Blocked nasal passage confirmed scope by ENT. Signed for rhinoplasty but have visible scars as eyebrows were shifted to match his mess up. Chin also has visible scarring and football shape outline 8 years after surgery. Procedures performed that were not even discussed as a possibility. He provided no explanation for hairline and behind ears scars! Told "Well I certainly don't see what you are seeing". Told me that I was overreacting and to go "see somebody about that". Constant pain and eyesight affected. Ophthalmologist stated that eyes were repositioned somewhat and tear ducts damaged. Now unable to wear contacts. Glasses do not fit as bridge of nose is far off midline. Large bump and discolored skin. Cartilage prominent and a visible outlineon both sides of nasal tip. Nose shortened and there is a graft of some type that sits on top of end of trigrminal nerve resulting in pain. Pain to eye due to trigrminal nerve damage. Droopy and sunken eye. Have been told by other plastic surgeons that face was pulled to side to match nose. Quilting stitc I did not sign consent for this extensive surgery and it was not necessary. He needed a face to hack up. Hopefully people will tell their story so others don't end up asso many have and he just brushed you off Condescending, arrogant and Incompetent. He may have done good things MANY years ago so people hear that but review his results the last 10 years. Do not let this physician continue with his experimentation and mutilation

This doctor is obviously knowledgeable, but seems to have a general lack of empathy for his pAtients. He never called to check up on me after my surgery and when I reported problems, he told me to wait a year. Now that a year is up, he said I would not benefit from more surgery. I have talked to other patients that were given the same treatment. My problem is strictly functional . I cannot breathe through my nose. Unless you are a cancer patient, I would look elsewhere.
