Let me begin by stating that San Francisco cosmetic & plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Macdonald is a consummate professional and exemplary educator every step of the way when it comes to any treatment or procedure he performs. Dr. Macdonald's patient coordinator Jodi is absolutely calming, lovely to speak with and an altogether welcoming presence when you visit his office.

Dr. Macdonald takes time to explain what he is doing, where he's going and why he's doing what he's doing. I do the same thing with my own clients! Whether you appreciate this or not, it's nice to have a care provider who takes the time to educate you on what's what.

Dr. Macdonald's natural process of informing me and all his patients of how he goes about his work was not only comforting but a learning opportunity I very much appreciated. His quiet, grounding presence is a perfect complement for any surgical procedure you may decide to have with him.

If you're seeking expertise in injectibles such as Botox, Dysport or Jeuveau or you're looking to have full-body lipo, blephioplasty for your tired looking eyes, neck and/or facelift, consider San Francisco cosmetic and plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Macdonald for your procedure(s). I've not been disappointed and neither will you.

Thank you Dr. Macdonald!

Very disappointing and heartbreaking results from eyelid surgery. I wanted a conservative upper eyelid surgery to make me appear more rested. More tissue was removed than I wanted which resulted in some hollowing in my upper eyelids which was a concern I voiced with this doctor before the procedure. I felt like there was a miscommunication between us, that in part was my own because I did not insist on more discussion. However, I think he should have also insisted on a more lengthly discussion to not give me a result I did not want. It's hard fix upper eyelid surgery if too much tissue is removed (more than the patient wants) because fillers are not permanent, the kind that can be used in upper eyelids. There are also risks of putting filler into upper eyelids. Fat grafts to upper eyelids are also invasive (because it's more surgery) and have complications and risks. These measures to mitigate an undesired result are also costly. DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THE SURGERY AND DOCTOR!!!

Although I have never patronized this doctor, a friend I know well had a blepharoplasty done by him which resulted in a look she had specifically expressed a distaste for.

thought this Dr. was on TOP Doc based on research (faulty) on RealSelf (don't trust)...Had a VERY bad experience with Facelift and Eye work...so bad that people say to me 5 months in "what happened to you, I thought you were having work done". Secretary is under pressure and on commission (obvious) and Dr. McDonald can't stand being a Dr. in fact.., RUN from this guy he's a fake.., not talented (but thinks he is) and is SERIOUSLY and OBVIOUSLY under pressure to make $$. I'm now trying to find $$ to fix his mistakes which he will not own but others call out everyday.

Had Pillar Procedure done in 2009. Was most expensive of any other ($1800) I felt like the actual procedure was rushed and done alone.

Unskilled, lacks knowledge, and is a dishonest doctor. He placed dermal filler in a completely diferent area of my lower face, than what we agreed upon and made me look bad! It was a complete waste of my $500. Just an FYI ..there is a lot of employee turn over in his office. A very well known esthetician of 30's who owns high end spas in San Francisco used to refer business to this doctor but he ruined their faces. Hedoes not know what he is doing with a syringe and does not have an artistic or esthetic eye. Keep on looking. YOU DON'T WANT TO GO TO THIS DOCTOR!

Had Pillar Procedure done for snoring. Dr. was very crude, did not even have anyone assist him. Procedure barely helps. He was also in a hurry. He was the most expensive also. I should have shopped around!
