when you go to a specialist, you are going for knowledge (that 4th rating), and expertise. wait times and staff - who cares? Is the Doc the best I can get? It's my ears! Dr. Hoeplinger has that. He also has the tools to give a proper exam. And he has a ton of experience. oh and his training is in the top 2% of doctors of all kinds - read the bio. If you are looking for someone to call you buttercup and go all gooshy on you, maybe don't go here. but if you want the best that your money can buy - and the latest knowledge (he's a teacher at the university) - then go here. You will not be disappointed. You will thank me. You're welcome. I went to 4 others before getting the attention and expertise that I think I get here.

I believed that I may have an ear infection, and called for an appointment. I have been suffering for a week and a half, and I was told that I could come in 3 weeks from now for an appt. because I have not been seen for 1 1/2 yrs. Since when does a sick call require you to visit a specialist repeatedly within a specified period?

Dr. Hoeplinger is a very personable doctor. However, it usually takes about 3 months to get an appointment. On the day of your appointment you can expect to wait at least a couple of hours before you see him.

I was very upset to read a rating so detrimental. I'd like to add my support for him, with all due respect to Dr Mark Hoeplinger, who is an exceptional physician. Drs are human, and not always 100%. A 2nd opinion should always be done when in doubt. I have been his patient for for 17 years, and have plenty of experience with dr's. He is very smart, precise (as multiple surgeries done on me), and always does his best to help in any way possible. Doctors are not magicians, but, I would never hesitate to place my life in his hands in any given situation. He's proven to be dedicated and gives his patients high priority, so that even when he is overbooked, I know that he enters exam room late only because he has given his undivided time to previous patients unconditionally. I ALWAYS get ample time, which I would consider is adequate, at this point, considering my complex issues he always addresses. Dr Hoeplinger always advises in the best interest of his patients. He IS human.

After many visits of not getting any better, the doctor finally did a biopsy. Even after a biopsy this doctor insisted there wasn't cancer. Finally went for a second opinion -- second doctor found it was Stage 4 cancer. What was this looking at?

When visiting his office, appointment times mean absolutely nothing, and I mean NOTHING! Recently at an 11am appointment, by 12:35 pm I had not been called . When I enquired at the desk i was told "you'll be seen shortly", yet the NP who was to see me was laughing and joking with staff, not once but on two different occasions, the second time for over 10 minutes. Finally at 1:10 pm I did what i've since come to hear many other patients have done, and that is walk right out. Needless to say no one from the office staff even tried to contact me to ask me why, yet I should never have expected them to with their non-personable, non-smiling demeanors since they had already taken my co-pay. Never under any circumstances again will EVER set foot in that office!
