I have suffered with sinus problems for as long as I could remember. Last year I had caught some kind of bug that had me coughing real bad. Went to urgent care, where the doctor never touched me let alone look in my throat. said it was the flu even though test for flu came back negative. Cough got worse so I went to the ER, where they told me I had strep throat. Five days later I ended up back in the ER for I could not swallow water. They did a CT scan where they said I had a cyst of puss in my throat and had to see an ENT right away. Which happened to be in another city, and when I got there it was a student fourth year and he said it could or could not be cyst. I can either get the cyst drained now or take antibiotics and come back to get the cyst drained when the antibiotics did not work. Long story short I have seen 5 different doctors that all said flu, strep throat or infection of some kind or other. I had taken 2 rounds of strong antibiotics that could have killed anything, and still had a cough that would not go away. With in 1 treatment of myofacial I stopped coughing. With in 2 weeks I was able to turn my head again, 2 months later and I barley have any symptoms. I continue with the treatment and exercises for I do not want this to ever come back again. Dr Teachey is the only one who listened to me and actually did a through examination. I recommend Dr Teachey to all my friends who say they have tried everything but nothing works. He even recommended that I finish the treatment with the doctors I have already seen and when they tell me there is nothing else to do, come see him. I wish I started with him first, could have saved me money and time.

Dr. Teachey has been a lifesaver to me. He diagnosed my facial and neck pain with myofacial and began the trigger point needling. I no longer clinch my teeth at night. In the past, doctors treated me for sinusitus all the time and gave me antibiotic after antibiotic. Dr. Teachey can test me to see whether it is a sinus infection or myofacial pain and treat me accordingly. Since the trigger point injections, I have had only one or two sinus infections a year. All other pain has been myofacial. I started with 3 weekly sessions and built on it. I am now on a maintenance plan- 14 weeks between needling. It has made a big difference to me. Immediately the pain/headache goes away. I keep doing my exercises and stretches they taught me. You can do them anywhere. I highly recommend Dr. Teachey. He and his staff are very friendly, helpful, they gave me books to read and information about myofacial. It is easy to make an appointment, and upon arriving for your appointment - it is short 5-10 minute wait.
I greatly appreciate Dr. Teachey and his needling and his staff. I am thankful I was referred to him by my family doctor. See Dr. Teachey, keep with your needling, and do the exercises . You will feel the difference too! Mrs. Connie Watson

Dr Teachey has been my doctor for over 25 years. For the last three years he has been treating my tinnitus with myofascial trigger point injections along with stretching exercises which has given me significant relief and improved the noise level of the tinnitus. One treatment was observed by a professor from Harvard who was learning about Dr Teachey's method. Dr Teachey is an outstanding and caring doctor who I am blessed to have. His staff, Brenda, Donna, and Christi are wonderful. I highly recommend Dr Teachey to everyone.

Would not recommend to anyone. He was very unorganized and didn't really make any sense when he was trying to explain to me that my nasal and sinuses allergies were related to "myofascial syndrome." The correlation did not make sense. I almost felt as if he was trying to sell me something because he was trying to get me to buy a book and such on this syndrome. All of his research and information he provided me was from the 80s. I'll be seeing another ENT.

I had seen my PCP 4 times, urgent care twice, my rheumatologist, my oncologist, and a pulmonologist twice before seeing Dr. Teachey for an array of symptoms beginning 5 months earlier. It began with shortness of breath which did not respond to asthma meds. A few weeks later I began having deep, sharp pain mostly along the long bones of my arms and my voice changed to constantly hoarse. I had x-rays, a CT scan, a bone scan and pulmonary function testing- all normal (and expensive). My doctors were starting to ask me if I was depressed… The shortness of breath was making my life miserable.
After Dr. Teachey listened attentively to my history (the only other doctor who did that was my trusted oncologist) .He said, “ I think I know what you have”. He gave me injections in various areas of my neck (a little scary but not as scary as constant shortness of breath). During the third one, I had the sensation of it shooting down my chest and I instantly could breathe. I nearly burst into tears with relief. The fourth injection flipped my voice back to normal. It turned out I had myofascial dysfunction, a common but under recognized condition, and I had lucked into one of the very few experts for this condition

Dr. Teachey is truly exceptional! He successfully treated me for chronic sinus and breathing issues that I had been battling for years with little relief. Dr. Teachey is extremely knowledgable, technically skilled, and incredibly compassionate. His nurses are wonderful and they truly care about the well-being and health of their patients. His practice sets the standard for what health care should be for all patients. I give him and his staff my highest recommendation!

Have been a patient over 40 years. Dr. T is very knowledgeable, and clearly coveys needed information for patient care. His staff is friendly and they are concerned with the overall well being of their patients.
He performed cholesteatoma surgery in 2007 which saved my life, and his follow up care has been excellent. My wait time is usually five minutes or less from my appointment time.
I highly recommend Va. Beach ENT and Dr. Teachey to anyone with allergy or ENT needs.
