My daughter had ann appointment with Dr. Reiter and thank goodness I ignored many of these negative reviews. She was absolutely lovely and attentive and friendly and not scary. She was thorough and a tremendous listener and gave us a huge amount of time without making us feel rushed. We have a plan now. She is the best psychiatrist we have seen over 10 years.

After reading all the negative reviews, I have to say, they are all extremely accurate.
I saw Dr. Reiter for a few years, many years ago, for anxiety. Like someone else said, I was young and didn't really know what to expect from therapy. Well, to start, one thing I did know was, my psychiatrist should not be dozing off while I am speaking during our session. No word of a lie. I chuckle about it until this day. Her eyes rolled back in her head and her head tilted back and she began snoring. Within seconds, she came back to earth, and didn't miss a beat. Wow!!! Sorry!!! Am I keeping you up?
Within the few years I saw her, I missed one appt. Now Dr Reiter was aware my mother was on her death bed. I was about to lose my mother...and I did, the week I missed my appt.
She still charged me for the missed appt. I understand charging patients for missed appts, if they are repeat offenders but my track record was 100% clean and she charged me because I accidentally missedan appt as my Mom slipped into a coma. Now THAT is a lack of compassion.
Last but not least...trying to adjust to the meds she was throwing at me, I had missed work, a day here and there due to the side effects of the meds. I stayed on them for a long period of time and then she decided to take me off them when they didn't seem to be working for me anymore. She gave me instructions to wean myself off of them. Trusting her professional judgment, I did as instructed. I crashed. My heart rate dropped to 52. I could barely function. Needless to say, I missed a week of work and I was let go.
I had a talk with my pharmacist who told me that I came off them too quickly. That is why I crashed. I was devastated at losing my job.
This is when I decided to walk....I mean, run from Dr. Reiter. Horrible doctor. Negative reviews are 100% accurate. Trust me!!!!

I have been seeing Dr Reiter for many years. I had some difficulty with finding the appropriate medicine to start. Dr Reiter was very patient and eventually we found the right combination of meds. She is very empathetic and asks me questions that help me deal with issues in the present as well as connecting me to the issues I have struggled with in the past. She has helped me gain insights into my relationship with my parents and how that has impacted my life choices as well as helping me understand my partner more fully. She listens and supports me. I can't thank her enough.

As a patient of Dr. Reiter for years now, I can say that she genuinely cares about her patients wellbeing, offering different treatments and options if one deems ineffective. I owe my life to her, she is a very helpful and patient doctor.

She was very cold to me and invalidated anything I was feeling. I actually feel worse.

Dr Reiter is one of the most caring and knowledgeable persons out there, I have been a patient of hers for a while and I gotten a lot better since seeing her, she is very understanding and very helpful and she knows her work very well, I would recommend her 100% . Just amazing

Misdiagnosed me and was cold and apathetic in sessions. Lacked compassion and empathy and was patronizing whenever I would ask questions. Just genuinely didn't feel comfortable being treated by her.

Years later after the heavy - and antiquated medication - she put me on I'm still dealing with the frustration of feeling like I didn't have any support as a physician. I would beware the glowing reviews, and think carefully and look over those bad reviews again. Someone who has no level of empathy and felt like using me as a meds guinea pig and missing my primary diagnosis is not someone worth trusting your mental health with.

Absolutely terrible. Failed to engage with concerns I had about my own safety, refused to listen when I suspected I was on the wrong medication/had the wrong diagnosis (she had me on antidepressants for years - I'm bipolar), and was shoddy in the things she did diagnose (gave a major diagnosis without doing any kind of full assessment, relied entirely on self-reports). So glad she's out of my life.
