Worst doctor I have ever been to by far! Extremely rude! She rolled her eyes at me 3 times as a response

Dr Gallo preformed 2 successful cervical spine surgical procedures on my neck, 1st 29 years ago and 2nd 20 years ago... tops in her field. I am now in Texas....wish I was still under her care.

Dr Gallo might not be suited for delivering your baby or hand holding in hospice, but she is sharp as heck when it comes to her trade as a NeuroSurgeon. I have spent over 38 yrs working with physicians as an ICU nurse. Neurosurgeons are, historically, precise, impatient, perfectionists with a “no fluff” approach to serious surgery. I have just had surgery with Dr Galo - only two weeks out -so far, so good. Thank you to her extremely efficient and friendly professional staff!!!

Catherine Gallo did a fusion of the L5-S1 back in 1999 - I remember waking up in the hospital after surgery in extreme pain with somebody pinching my toes, I looked to the foot of the bed and it was Dr. Gallo dressed in a black leather jumpsuit smiling down at me, I asked her what did you do to me? as I felt like I’d been ran over by a truck because of the extreme pain I was in, she laughed and reassured me that I would be just fine’ it’s only temporary that I am recovering after surgery! I was told I would never lift more than 25 lbs. and unable to return to my trade as a Carpenter & framer (Not true) that was 22 years ago. I have had problems with my left shoulder throughout my career in Carpentry, but never again a problem with my back! I did change careers around a decade ago to Truck driver. a couple years ago I had a fall getting out of my fuel truck, I am now being treated for multiple injuries including fusion of C4 thru 6 also have a ruptured L3 and receiving injections and sure do wish she was the one treating me. . .

Ugh. What a narcissist. All the warmth and care of an iceberg. She didn't even bother to personally interpret my MRI, show me pictures of the results, or show me the spine model with explanation of what was going on. She had her assistant come in to do it. Guess she couldn't be bothered to waste her precious doctor time. There is no way I would ever have someone so overtly lacking in empathy come anywhere near me with a scalpel. I am not sure how or why she is still in practice. With the thousands of dollars of clothing and jewelry hanging off her, she evidently could afford to retire and not have anything to do with lowly patients. Ugh. I found another amazing surgeon, not only skilled, but warm and caring. Dr. Carmina Angeles, is anyone needs a great surgeon who shows she cares about her patients.

I have had neck issues for several years. D.r Gallo did surgery on my neck a few months ago and it helped several of my problems. She is an amazing surgeon. She tells you upfront whether she can help you or not and I personally respect that. A big thank you to Dr. Gallo and her staff along with all the staff at Two Rivers Surgical Center!

I had previous surgery on my neck in 2006. It was excellent care and had not hurt since. In Oct 2018 I had some serious pain in and around my hips. Could barely walk and tremendous pain. After many doctors advised that they saw a minor fracture and it would heal itself I asked for a referral back to Dr Gallo. It had been 8 months with 8 falls and barely able to walk. Dr Gallo found right side broken in half in the back and a hole in left front and broken in two in front. I literally had 2 pieces of hips not one. She found the problem but said it was not her expertise. She took the further step to find a surgeon that could do this surgery. I feel Dr Gallo and staff are miracle workers. I am eternally grateful to her and walking only because of her attention to her patients needs. I will and have sent her new referrals. Thank you Catherine you are my savior.

Been trying for the last two months to get into surgery, but it's being held up because Dr Gallo needs to be assured of the money she will be getting from BCBS. The insurance company has already told her that she does not need prior authorization for the surgery I need. Apparently, that's not good enough for her. She needs to have it in writing how much she will be getting. In the meantime, her patient is suffering in pain. What ever happen to "First, do no harm"?

I went in for a consult with Dr Gallo. I knew from the reception I received from the staff when I refused more xrays that her only focus was on money. I had a MRI and a ton of xrays taken three weeks before consult and the office tried to tell me that the imaging center I went to didn’t get the angle they needed. So more xrays were needed. I said no. After that I met with the doctor and she pretty much said I could do the surgery or not. She didn’t care either way. The whole experience made me go somewhere else. I can’t speak about her surgery skills. She may be competent but the office and her general demeanor didn’t impress me.

Dr. Gallo was negligent in the treatment of my mother. She did spinal surgery on her, then sent an inept PA to check on her. I asked about doing follow up labs as her surgery took much longer than expected and with more blood loss (I am a nurse) and the PA told me no. She ended up having a blood transfusion days later when the labs I insisted on having FINALLY got done and revealed how anemic she was. Of course, the transfusion had to wait bc Dr Gallo didn’t type and crossmatch my mother before surgery! Her pain kept increasing and Dr Gallo couldn’t be bothered to come check on her patient- she is the surgeon and the buck stops with her! Turns out my mom had a major bleed and was rushed back for emergency surgery. When Dr Gallo got there to operate, she acted as if the bleed was my mother’s fault! From what, lying in a hospital bed? She couldn’t have been less caring if she tried. She ended up having to do a THIRD surgery to repair the lousy job she did the first two times and my mom ended up in rehab for a long time.
I don’t expect warm and fuzzy from a surgeon- I don’t care if you have the personality of a hermit crab if you do competent work and follow your patient closely. Dr Gallo has earned the reputation she has on this site of being callous, rude and more concerned with her looks and horses than in her job.
