Dr. Saunders is truly a joy! I went to see her after having a traumatic experience with another OBGYN and she was incredibly attentive and accommodating. She answered all my questions and showed a genuine concern for my health - even things I was trying to minimize. Her nurse was also very welcoming. I arrive on time and am seen within minutes, which is an added bonus. Most of the reception staff are friendly, but the nurses can sometimes be a bit short on the phone if you call about medical records. Otherwise, the best OBGYN experience in Kansas City.

I'm not sure what Dr. These other women saw because I love me some Dr. Joy Saunders! I was referred to her by several people. She has been my gyn for about 3 years now. She has performed surgery on me as well as my annual visits. She answers all my questions and takes good care of me! I have referred her to 5 of my friends who all love her! I'm proud to call her my GYN and when she can get me fertile she will deliver my babies! I understand everyone has a different experience but some of these reviews I just can not believe they are talking about Dr. Joy Saunders. Don't let others bad experience scare you from a great Dr.!

I would not recommend Dr. Saunders. My experience started out okay as the front office women are all very friendly, but after waiting an hour and a half past my scheduled appointment time to see Dr Saunders, I was irritated. Once she finally came into see me, she didn't apologize for making me wait, and she didn't sit down and take her time with me. She rushed through the appointment so fast and didn't ask if I had any questions or inform me of anything she was doing. When I started to ask my questions she gave me very vague answers and seemed annoyed and eager to get on to her next patient. She didn't listen to any of the issues I was having with my pregnancy nor did she act like she cared. I had read good reviews about this doctor and was so disappointed after meeting her. She has no bed side manor, no compassion and was unable to show any empathy toward me. To be blunt, she was just down right rude. DO NOT GO SEE THIS DOCTOR.

I chose Dr. Saunders because I had been seeing one of her partners for my Gyn care, but that Doctor doesn't do OB care. The staff of nurses and people at the front desk are mostly rude. If you have questions, even important ones, you might as well wait to ask the doctor because the nurses aren't interested in helping. Dr. Saunders treated my husband like he was invisible and seemed annoyed that I brought him. She treated me like my questions were stupid and never spent more than 5 minutes with me during my OB apps. I decided not to deliver with her and switched to a different office. I am so glad I did. Dr. Mooney-Smith, the dr there that I used to see, is amazing. Sadly I didn't have the same experience with Dr. Saunders. She isn't a bad doctor, just a little cold and doesn't do more than the bare minimum.

While Dr. Saunders wasn't my regular OBGYN, she was on call when I gave birth to my first child. She was on her way to a c-section but took the time to stop in and deliver my baby girl. She took her time, did NOT rush me, and took care when stitching up tears. Definitely an A+ in the delivery room! Don't know what she's like for prenatal care.
